Well being that there are going to be a few people out there installing some AR7000 receivers, thought to quickly share some pics on how I placed mine. Of course there may be different/better ways but I liked this way. I drilled two small holes in the back loop of frame, this avoids having any touching with canopy as well puts the end back in towards frame more to avoid any damage in a horrific crash. The small extension antenna I put in fron to of amp as per the distance request to have it no less than a few inches apart and it seemed like logical place to put it for now.

I really like the way you placed the antennas. Keeps them safe behind the canopy! Wish I had thought about that before mounting mine :)

I'm waiting for the nice folks at USPS and NZpost to get my DX7 to me - it's been EMS'd, so should be here by the end of the week. Yay.

Are any of you using the receiver pack that came with it or still just using your BEC's? My Logo 10 has a UBEC which I would like to keep using, I think.

I went back to UBEC from rx battery, because I could with the DX7.

With my old futaba gear I got bad glitches all the time with UBEC, with the DX7 I got full range, even without any ferrite rings and so on.

Its gods gift against glitches :), at least thats how I felt about it.

Yeah, it sure is!! I installed the "old" AR6000 in my fixed pitch Piccolo and stacked two CC10 controllers on top of the rx - then I zip tied the two antennas from the AR6000 to the brushless tail motor leads. Guess what! It works flawless with great range and its much better to fly than with the Berg technology 4ch Hyperion receiver. :smokin:

Now that is a test!! Man that is not even right to do that to a poor little RX like that. ;)

Cool to know it worked. I just got in 3 more of the DX-7 RX's yesterday so soon there will be a T-REX and an Ion-X joining my 2 L14's on DX!!

I love the DX7!! Wonder if there will be a DX9 or something like that sometimes?

Will, you could also use the AR6100 in your trex. Its smaller and very easy to install - the speed is the same as the AR7000 but it has reduced range. Here is a picture of the 6100 in my trex :)

Great thread, nice to see how folks are mounting their Spektrum Rx's, including small, smaller and tiny :)

There is a fairly strong rumour that a DX9 is indeed in the pipeline. No info yet about features (we're all guessing it will be based on the 9303 but with direct digital like the DX7) or target release date.

Thanks for the tip Lorents. I swore off the 450 sized T-REX;s at the beginning of this year, sold all 4 that I had, the new RX will be going in my 600.

I do have a question though, does that little 6100 have 2 receivers in it like the larger new DX-7 RX has?

The 6100 is a single unit (less range) but its using the new DSM2 protocol (better, less power consuming)

Yeah, the 6100 only have one reciever but I have flown that trex until its only a small dot in the sky so the range seems to be more than enough for such a small heli (unless you have some kind of binocular vision).

Oh, the bead of glue from a heat gun on the root of antenna was a great idea!! It has probably saved me from a couple broken antennas :)
