View Full Version : New Blade CX Skids....Will People Buy them?
Ok, so i posted my carbon tail boom that i was selling on eBay, and used my Blade CX for the picture. I made a set of landing skids for it. I had a good bit of people comment on them, and ask me where they can get a set. I think they look great, and i have yet to break a set of them. They cost me $21.00 in materials to make, plus my time. Put them together. The 21 dollars also includes the price of a new battery holder. So the assembly is completely bolt on. What do you guys think? Should i start making them, and if so, what do you think would be a fair price?

Can we get a few different pictures? How much do they weigh compared to stock? I haven't broken a stock gear in a long time, but would like to have room for a TP LiPo battery instead of the stock one.
I will get some more pictures posted up. Right now i am using the stock battery box, but it could easily be removed, and you could pretty much put whatever battery you want under that. At the shop, i removed the battery box, and mounted 2 stock CX batteries under there, and it flew around just fine. This was the first set i made, i am going to get some more parts today, and make up another set because the other 2 guys that fly CX's at the shop want them already.

Well, i just made a new set that is fits and looks more to scale in my opinion. I worked with alot of different options, and i got this one right. They are MUCH stronger, and dont mess with the CG of the heli at all. I am selling them with a new battery box also, so they are a direct bolt on. All you have to do is remove your old skids and battery box, and put my new skids and battery box on. You do also have to trim the battery cover of body off to allow them to fit. Here are some pics and also the link for the auctions is here incase you want to read more:

The skids look great, and the CX needs a better set of skids. But I suspect the market will be very limited at $21+. Best of luck though. I hope you prove me wrong.
Well, that was actually the older style, these ones are a bit more affordable. My cost on everything was 12.51 with tax, so i started the bid on eBay off at 15.99. I dont intend on making a bunch of money off of them, just make people happy with their CX's. We will see what happens, it may take off it may not, but i love mine :D
