Has futaba got an update that will allow the TX to reconize the switch when changed to a new location? A friend of mine changed his 12za switchs to match the 12zh like mine and the tx will not show a three way switch sounds like futaba is false advertising.

Thanks for help

Does the 12MZ not have a Switch Menu like the 14MZ

Yes it does but it will show a 2 way switch on the screen when we have a 3 way switch there.

The 14MZ has two switch screens. One to tell the radio wether it's a 2 or 3 way, momentary or alt etc. Another screen lets you set the ON/OFF position of the switch. Does the 12 have these two screens

I'm not sure but i don't think so. How do you get to it?

The switch menu is under the system menu and the ON/OFF screen is called Prog Mixes under the Model menu. This is on my 14MZ. I don't know the 12MZ but being basically the same software underneath I would have thought they would be similar

I've just found this

You need to get into the setup/calibration screens to assign the type of switch and then recalibrate. It does carry warnings that you can kill the transmitter if sequences are perform wrong so I'd read the whole lot first before attempting it

It does seem abit lacking that the 12 doesn't have this as a standard screen. Maybe it's a memory space issue - they couldn't fit the sub routines in so they put them into the external programming

Well i have a 12zh and when i send my setup to my friends 12za it does not pick up the idle1 setting. It gets the normal mode and idle2 mode but i don't use idle2. It skips the throttle curve in idle1 and the pitch curve. I guess he will just keep using the 2 way switch for norm and idle1. I'm sure glad i got the 12ZH version at the time the only radio our hobby shop could get was the airplane version. I told the man i wanted the heli version so i had to wait like a month longer to get mine but a few of my friend went on and got the airplane version, now he wished he would have waited. He called hobby services and they siad he could change the switches but they don't show up in the swtich screen.

Thanks for help

Maybe your friend should call again. When I got my 12Z on 50 mhz. They thought they had a heli radio on 50 mhz in stock. Well when I got the radio it was a 12 Z on 50mhz airplane version. I called Hobby Services and sent the radio back. They converted it to a heli version and sent it back to me. They changed labels and all switches. It is now a heli version.

As mentioned above the service menu is how this is done.
