Im about to order a motor for the Lepton. The specs on these two motors are practically identical. Does one have an edge over the other on 4s?
The Hacker weighs just a tad less.
The hacker KV is 900 and the Hyperion is 815
Anyone?

Hyperion underrates their motor's kV ratings. I would get the hyperion just becuase I like the blue can, and it matches the nice blue rotorhead.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one, I have the same hacker in my lepton on 4S and it is awsome. I don't have any experience with the hyperion but from all the posts on this site it is also a good choice. so I guess it depends on which one you can get easier and cost.

I had my mind pretty much set on the Hacker because the hacker has a fan but now the hyperion seems to have a fan too so ... hmmmm

If you want the hyperion 3025-10 I have it for sale in the electronics section.

Yes I saw it. Do you have the fan for it?

How are Ya'll mounting the hyperion? They have four holes but do not line up with the lepton's mounting plate. Any suggestions?

I think most are mounting with only 2 securing screws corner to corner, but i could be wrong. I am uing a Hacker A30-10XL and i managed to get all 4 securing screws in, removing tail belt pulleys on side frames to make access easier.

I just noticed somthing I didn't know previously. There are 2 versions of the 3025 a Z3025 and a H3025. The mounting holes and "end bells" are different. Also the H3025 seems to come with a fan on the shaft. I get the feeling the H version is also lighter but I have not looked into it.

Mine has a fan but is marked z3025. I bought it used and do not know if the fan was added later.

The H seems to be the Heli version (duh, hehe) . It doesnt have that long nosecone shape and will sit completely inside the frame like the hacker motor. I guess that is a good thing. Keeps the motor nice and safe in case of a real hard "landing".

Hmmmm now the Hyperion and the Hacker not only have the same specs, but they bot have the same shape and a fan as well. Starting to sound like they are the same motor to me.

I got the Heli version and mounted it with four bolts no problems

Were the bolt 90 degrees in relation to each other? Do they make a square or a parallelagram?

The new H-version of the hyperion motors were specifically developed to bolt right into the Lepton frame. There are four bolt holes that make a perfect sqaure, which match up to the frame, allowing you to use all four screws.

I only used two screws, but they are "Fat Boy" Titanium screws that I bought at a local HS. I have them crammed pretty tight and also used blue loctite. They are large diameter heads and Ti so I doubt they will strip :D

Anyone know what timing I should be using for the Hyperion on the align 75 esc. I was not sure so I went Mid range.

Well guys, I decided to get one of the Kora motors so I suspect I'll have both of these motors up for sale here before too long. Now if all my goodies would just show up at my door so I could finish setting up my new lepton. :D :D
