I broke down and put a Extra 260 together with a Saito 220. It flies great but I would like to flap out the landings and get some steep slower approaches instead of carrier landings.

I have the flaperons working in a DX7 setup and have also mixed in down elevator to compensate for the flaps when dropped.

My question is: approx how much (degree) of flaps to try and how much elevator down comp?

Start slow with around 1/4 to 1/2 of the travel that you have on the ailerons.
Start with between 5 - 10% mix on the elevator.

Some airplanes need up elevator mix and others need down mix.

Try it at high altitude to fine tune the elevator mix because to much elevator gets interesting and to little gets expensive.
