ok, not the right place for this topic, but figured it would get answered quickly here,
Anyone using the DX7 in the Razor?,
and is there a Futaba solution/alternative to the DX7 on the way!!
Thanks!

I am using a DX7 on my Razor. Understand between bad weather, battery pack break-in and scheduling, I have not done much with my Razor. That said, I flew through 2 charges last Saturday at the MHA field without any radio issues. I have no reason to think the DX7 will not be a good fit for the Razor.

As to the Futaba, I have no knowledge of any DSM type radio from them. I'm guessing all the radio makers are going to start feeling the heavy breath of competition on the back of their necks quite soon. The DX7 is all over the MHA field already.

Not a whisper of real info about a 2.4GHz spread spectrum air radio from Futaba. Lot's of people assume that they must be working on it in secret but who knows? Futaba's 3ch 2.4GHz surface radio uses technology licensed from Nomadio.

Nomadio have announced that they plan to release a high end (a la 14Mz high end, you know, colour touch screen, bajillion features and of course, MP3 player) air radio but not given any dates. From the discussion on rcgroups it seems it won't be any time soon, maybe by Xmas 07 but there is no way to tell at this stage.

There is unofficial noise that the DX9 is already on the way/in test but nothing confirmed. Most of us assume it will be based on the JR9303 platform but that's just guessing at this stage.

XtremePowerSystems announced their XtremeLink 2.4GHz Tx modules (Hitec, Futaba, JR and Multiplex) and Rx (6,8,10 and 16 channel) for release in October. Still not available, maybe in Feb, maybe not. This would allow you to keep your favourite modular Tx, set it to PPM mode and use the XPS/XL Tx module and Rx to get all the benefits of 2.4GHz as well as realtime telemetry.

So for now, the DX6/DX7 is the only game in town and for a Razor DX7 is the way to go.

Futaba does have a Spread Spectrum radio coming. That is all that I can say at this time. Should see it in the near future. I believe the hobby dealers have gotten some information about it already.

David Tease

Well I bet it has Nomadio magic inside. Nomadio have been posting for about 6 months over on RCG about their licensing deals to "three major players". I guess that's Hitec, Futaba and ?? Now Nomadio have announced their intention to release their own high end air radio. It seems announcements, rumours and targetted leaks are SOP now.

I look forward to some hard info from Futaba (or their close buddies) ASAP but am not holding my breath.

I have a XP6102 DX (spektrumized) which seems to work so far in 50 sized ehelis. When playing with the DX6 transmitter, I noticed a LOT of sloppy programming in the CCPM. It wasn't just interaction, more like the three servos notmoving in unison, causing undesireable swash movement. This is why I spektrumized the 6102.

Has anyone here tried and comfirmed that this is not an issue with the DX7?
