This was announced today on RCG by Ralf Buxnowitz, Mikado founder.

Here is a quote from Sean Plummer:-

Hello all,

Last month Mikado made a visit to our facility, here in Arizona. We were fortunate enough to see the NEW GENERATION of Mikado Helicopters. Here are some details:

A. The new models will incorporate over 15 years of ELECTRIC HELICOPTER MANUFACTURING experience. Mr. Ralf Buxnovitz is the Founder of MIKADO, and has personally lead the design team on the New models. Mikado has chose to utilize SEVERAL INNOVATIONS previously not seen on electric helicopters to date. The new design puts special emphasis on VERY RIDGID and LIGHT WEIGHT engineering parameters. These models are designed to be the BEST PERFORMING electric helicopters available at any price.

B. The models will utilize many totally new parts and many of the latest generation Logo parts that have been evolving over the last few years.

C. Different Canopys will be Available, and interchangable to the different models.

D. The models will be capable of using 5S to 12S lipoly Batteries

E. The models have a generous Motor mounting area allowing for both larger Outside-runner and Inside-runner type motors. The mounting will also accomidate both small and large pinions.

F. All model will utilize a new gear drive tail technology

F. Full size or Mini servos can be used on all new models.

Best regards,
Mr. Sean Plummer

Looks good for new AP platforms, considering the good rep the current models have already.

Yep, looks VERY interesting. I knew something was up because Ralf had me send him a Z50A-800 a couple of months ago and said it was for "something new...". They did a good job of keeping this close to the vest, however, as I haven't heard a peep about this since then. :)

I'm guessing these will be updated frames that can use standard size servos and will have driven tails. I also think there will be lots of commonality with existing Logos. Lots of mixing and matching, I suspect.

it really won't take much to update logos. I would settle on .7 or 1 mod main gear as standard with driven tail off 14. (with all the new outrunners, you don't need 200 tooth main, and would be more robust) only thing he really need is a new frame that will fit the driven tail. I would bet there will be price drop on the higher end model as well. :)

ditto for .7 module gearing. I feel that's the weakest spot on my heavy/stretched L10 right now.. but it is holding up so far

you can fit the other main gear on it I believe. just get the .7 mod gear and the matching pinion. :) I am thinking about doing it on mine with logo 20, 1mod gear, which will simplify my pinions. (most of my heli run 1mod)
