Im shopping for a new Rx for my Trex 450. I'd like to stay under $90.

I have a 146ip in my 450. It's a PCM rx and fits nicely between the rails.

I have a Berg 7 in one of my foamies. PPM and REALLY light. Not sure what the 146 cost (got it as part of a package from Heliproz) but I paid a tick less than $70 for the Berg.

I paid $58.00 CDN for mine.

I have the berg 7, it is less expensive than the Futaba. Also it can be programmed with the Castle link so fail safe, servo rev, subtrim and response rate are available to any transmitter not just expensive computer radios.

Did that price include the crystal?

Futaba R146iP PCM all the way.....don't even have to think about it.

Berg 7P hopefully doesn't have any lag time (CCPM). A while back I used a Berg receiver in a T-Rex and the collective pitch response was terrible!

I went through this same process. The new Berg locked out and put my brand new 450 in the ground. Went to the 146 with a deans antenna and havent had any issues.

That doesn't make a lick of sense, the PCM1024 system is well known for having latency issues that don't exist when using a PPM RX. I have a berg 7p and it works great, though it's not in a heli. Perhaps I need to do some testing.

In an electric heli I'd go with PCM.

In an electric heli I'd go with PCM.

Agreed.

So Andy, you like hiding the glitches instead of finding the problem?

LOL Preventative maintence. I'd say use PCM on an ignition gas plane too.

I always reccomend finding a problem but in an inherently electrically noisy environment I'd still go pcm.

Berg 7 on my swift with Deans whip antenna mounted out right front strut. Fly till you can't see it no glitches. The secret? Silicone the tail belt regularly. Works for most all belted helis including the notorious glitcher, the TREX 450..

My question is how do you know your locked out and not still out of range or haveing a glitching issue ?
