I just purchased G3.5 and downloaded the T-rex 600 in the sticky as well as this 450, I downloaded the first 450 in this post. The 600 flys fine but the 450 has the rotor head wobble problem. It wobbles about 30% of the time. Any ideas about what I should do?

Can anyone comment on how accurate the flight model is for this heli?
How about the wobble? I get it consistently in hover and it comes and goes in idle 1 and 2 (hope my terms are right).

I've been tweaking my settings tho I've seen teh wobble before...
Right now I am wondering if anyone knows how to change the color of the winshield ? I've been able to modify the .tga file to adjust the colors...but I can't seem to figure out how to change the winshield from the blue to a black...

BTW I should mention the reason I want to change the winshield color is I'm trying to match my real heli as closely as I can... I can't seem to get all the blue in the right spots, not sure how the 3d model was texture mapped...still this is pretty fun to look at..heheh...

the windshield is made in 3D-studio with transparent material, sorry. :D

But due the wobbling I yesterday scaled down my 600 in 3D-studio.

if someone want to try:

the canopy is still the 600, with black windshield. Please make the skin for this again.

I changed parameters for the Kokam, they will get empty now. :glasses2:

Cool. This has better mapping for the L/R side of the canopy. One request, next time can you post a TGA image with the wireframe uv layout? Also it seems like there should be separate uv layout for the color of the "head" to make it blue.. also the back gearing on the tail as well. Right now it's gray or orange depending on 600 or 450 picking up color from the canopy...

I have 3.0 and just upgraded to 3.5 . how do I get trex 450 into 3.5?

Just download the file and use the import item from the File menu... it may get renamed .zip instead of .g3x but choose to import the file as a g3x and it will work either way.

in the file menu then import/export do I use the import feeds. new at this so don't know what I'm doing.....your web page is great

First menu on top left "Simulation" then choose "Import...." in that menu, and from the submenu choose "G3X..." and find the file you downloaded. Then you should get messages it imported, so you can go to "Aircraft" menu and "Select Aircraft" and select it from the custom group at the very top.

I would love to make a custom paint scheme for my heli. Are there any threads or tutorials on how to change the color schemes? I have photoshop, but have no 3d graphic experience.
the photoshop picture you included seems simply to be a collage of color schemes logos and photo graphics. makes me think it may not be that tough

First to those reading, please note I am not the author of this heli/file... I only uploaded my custom color scheme for fun that's it. yogi149 is the one who made it as he posted above.

As far as tuts for texturing, probably lot, especially for photoshop. If you check the KnifeEdge forums I think they have links there for developer stuff. All you really need is a paint program to load/save the TGA file and then just reload the heli in Realflight and that's it. The one I uploaded is just the original file as was, with different color background parts and my own logo I made in illustrator brought into photoshop. Search google for "texture mapping" or "photoshop" and I bet you will find lots of links.

This is the canopy I would like to make. I airbrushed this last year and it got destroyed on its second flight. here is a preliminary attempt at the canopy. Looking forward to playing with this some more. Need to figure out how to set the cf windshild to be the same color as the canopy

I don't think so..that would have to be part of the 3d model that yogi would have to make a new version/download for.

I just got a new computer with vista .the trex model from yogi 149 will not load. It says [ could not find contents file in gx3 file . Import failed. ]this model loaded great in xp. does any one know whats up

Maybe try taking file, rename the file to .zip and then importing it that way..or unzipping by hand and placing the files in the zip manually into the proper G3 directories...

Hi guys, I just down loaded the 450 and the wobble programs and just on spool up it acts like the tail roter belt slips and then it goes away. Any thoughts? thanks Randy AMA 16732

What is the closest heli model on the G3.5 for the Trex 450? Am I blind or on the wrong website because I can't find the Trex 450 file to download at www.realflight.com/gallery. Thanks for the help.
