I must correct my entry.

I've now got the FIRST modded for heli 29cc from Toxic Al. It's not a stroked crank and the piston is lighter than the 26's which makes it easier to balance. It's been ported and polished, crank trued, piston balanced, and timing adjusted. With a 24oz Sullivan fuel tank, I'm averaging 35 minutes flight time. My XLV is a little over 26 pounds. I'm almost through my second gallon now and the engine is starting to settle into a consistant run. Can't comment on power yet as we've been taking it easy on the break in. I'm running 87 oct and Amsoil Sabre @ 3 oz/gal. Al has been present for some of the runs to assist with break in. What a cool guy. He's pretty darn good bassist too.

I wonder if this engine could fly my Vario 2.5m 3 Blade Turb head? I may try a hover after the engine is broken in. BTW, I'm considering a governor for the XLV because I'll be lifting things and a fixed curve may not be the best way to maintain head speed. Has anyone added one yet? If so, please share the install. I'm thinking about having a 12mm shaft collet modded to hold the magnets. My OSD uses six for resolution and I hope the gov can share the pickup device. I like the GV-1 so far.

Yea Baby . . .followed in Dan's footsteps and have AL (TRM) working up S/N 002 XLV 29.

So add me to the XLV Owners list . . .and BTW why did we get bumped to some sub-group?
