I have not had a play with G3.5 although I have tried G3 in LHS a few times. G3 is very good but just over-priced IMO. It costs about double what Phoenix does as you end up having to by upgrades and expansion packs. It needs an even higher performance PC/graphics card which if you have to upgrade to get, adds to the cost. It certainly has some nice features so in the end either will be excellent.
I think at the high end, Phoenix/Reflex/G3.5 it's pretty much a highly subjective choice. FWIW, ClearView has a special camera mode that is optimised for trying to keep the ground in view. You can download and fly it in demo mode for about 20min.
