The one way bearing on my Extreme started slipping today in the middle of some tic-tocs.. I got it down OK but it took me a while on the ground to figure out what was slipping.. Do I need to send this thing back to MA to get the bearing out or can I get it out myself with heat? Any advice from someone who has done this would be appreciated.. I have not yet tore into it.. Many Thanks in advance..

The sprague clutch in the constant drive auto hub is probably slipping.
Does the bottom aluminun piece of the constant drive hub have set screws that are spaced 180 degs apart?

If it does, one could have backed out and the piece that holds the sprague bearing in place is allowing it to move.
It it doesn't have the set screws you will need to send it to MA.

If it has the set screws, you can take the lower part of the unit apart and grind the flat a little more on the piece that retains the bearing. Then put it back together and make sure the set screws tighten onto the flat area. This should cure the problem.

David, you were correct as usual!!! All that happened was that the set screws were loose.. I tore it apart for good measure and to oil the one way bearing.. The flats were not even worn.. Easy fix.. Thanks..
