It it normal for the Duralite 4000 ma battery to lose voltage after it sits a while from not being used . I'm talking I charge when getting through flying and then maybe 2 months later and I check the voltage it is down to about 8 volts with no load and about 7.5 with 1 amp load . It charges back up fine . Does this sound OK

What regulator you using?

Its the VR5.4 regulator from Batteries America. Its the red one .

Not familiar with that regulator. If it has the fail safe switch included also. My guess is that is drawing voltage from the pack even when off. The regulators with the fail safe switch usually draw a small current even when off.

You do have the regulator plugged in between the switch and receiver if it does not have the fail safe switch?
If you have plugged in between the battery and the switch it will draw current even when off.

Are you unplugging the battery completely from your system while it's in storage?

Thanks David it may have a fail safe , I don`t know for sure, I wired it up like the Durlite instructions just like if I had a Duralite reg in its spot . My other systems with a lipo set up and this same regulator dont lose voltage like this one .Im was wondering if the difference is the Lion battery verses the lipo battery.

Some Voltage will bleed off from a full charge..Its kinda like it's overfull a little, some will spill out. But after that it should stablize.

So if it comes off the charger hot at 8.0 it may drop to 7.8 (random #s)then stablize and not loose any more voltage or at least very little..

So after the charge wait a while before you check it . Give it time to calm down then check it. Wait a few days and check it again should be the same or very close.

Li ion should hold the voltage during storage.
