I just bought a switching 12v power supply from Helihobby, at the end it has two bare wires (obviously red/positive and black/negative).

What's the best (proper) way to connect those wires to the cellpro 4s?

Do I have to open the charger and solder the wires at the point the existing wires connect? Or is there another method?

Thanks

Jae

the 4s has croc clips, why not use them?

That's exactly what I did last night but I did not consider that a permanent solution. It worked, but there must be a better way to do it...

that's all I do with mine, it looks ugly I know, but at least when your away from the house, you can still charge from the car or something.

Take the supplied wired cord with the big battery clamps on it and cut it off about 3 inches from the charger....

now go buy 2 sets of deans connectors one pkg with female and male plugs and the other with 2 of female , solder a male plug to the to the 3 inch lead left on trhe charger . solder a female plug to the other side if the cord you cut off, now you have the use of the stock cable ... be sure to observe proper polarity ( I believe the common - black - wire has indented writing stamped along it. or mark one lead with a piece of tape after cutting.

now solder a female plug onto the leads coming off your power supply. now you can plug directly in. Also I like to go down to the local electronic supply or lhs and buy some 12 guage silicon wire in blk and red and solder some medium alligator type clips on a couple of 3ft legnths of the red/blk silicon wire and solder another fermale deans on that . now your covered for just about any hook up and any other config is just a deans connector away...

hope this helps

I did the same as aaxiss...

Only used different connectors which was lying around and cut the wire closer to the clamps rather than the charger. With this you can charge from your car's battery when your in the field or from you power supply. You could even make a cable with an attachment which goes into your car's cigarette lighter.

Yup, I did the same but I used 6mm audio jacks as that was the best thing I could get my hands on at the time. I have leads with croc clips (funny, we call them alligator clips here), with banana plugs and with a cigarette lighter plug.
