Hey guys, I've talked to Ray and Chris, and Chris's father. For the moment all I can say is that this is a very unfortunate situation. The good news is this, there's no dispute about the money that's owed. At the moment, Chris is not in a position to pay Ray, and the parts were special ordered for Chris, and now used - so returning the parts isn't the best option (but it might be the best last resort).

Chris isn't currently working, but it looks like he may have some work lined up. I'm about as tough a critic as there is when it comes to paying your debts, and I do believe Chris feels horrible about doing this to someone that's been so good to him. The final word is this, Chris has promised me that Ray will be paid. He can't know exactly how soon it will happen, but I don't think he's going to make a liar out of me. He lives and breathes helis, and I don't think he could stand to not be able to show his face at another event.

I hope that Chris will come on here and make the same promise to the community.

I'm well aware of the history. I'm not ready to extend him credit, and I don't recommend anyone else does. He did promise me that Ray would get paid, which is my only priority at this time. I don't expect him to make a liar of me.

This is NOT the place to call names, especially the derogatory ones, and it certainly is not the place to threaten anyone.

The sad unfortunate truth here is that Chris has done this in the past, over and over again. He's done it to people he hasn't known and to people that have been standing by his side. He may pay Ray back, he may not. However, the point is that he just took a big crap over one of the few people left that were trying to allow the kid to regain some semblance of a good name.

No doubt you know of his history, it's posted all over the internet. His Myspace page reads like the billboard of a delinquent that hasn't learned his lesson after constantly going down the wrong road. Normally Spork, I would applaud your effort, however, that's not the case with this one.

The problem is that Chris owes money, not only to Ray but to others. There are numerous people that claim he still owes them either money or helicopter parts. Instead of getting a job, he continues to incur more debt or steal from others. Yes, steal. I don't care that he doesn't have a car, that's not an excuse that's sufficient enough. He can walk or ride a bike to a McDonald's or the local 7-11, unless of course the locals near him know him not to be trustworthy enough to hire him. He can work jobs at the local houses or trailers or whatever to try and make up some money. He can get friends to give him rides to a job or something similar.

My point is, there are options available to him yet he has not taken advantage of them. What he has taken advantage of is the people around him and the people in this hobby. Normally this would not be a thread that I would post to but the continual excuses and the rampant thievery has gone on long enough. Wayne Brown, a site admin here, stuck up for him last time despite the circumstances. Research it here, Wayne took plenty of flak for it then. He is no longer backing or protecting Chris, what does that say to you?

That's one of the things he and I talked about today. By the way, he ain't a kid. At 17 he can take responsibility for debts of this size and needs to.

You misunderstand. I feel differently about this because Chris needs to face the music. Chris has stated he will pay Ray. I think he will at some point and your calling him or his father or Ray won't change the timetable. You are doing nothing more than wasting your time, in my opinion. Your involvement really has no impact on whether or not Chris will pay Ray. It's up to Chris to make good on it.

I believe Chris either thrives on this type of attention or he's too stupid to realize the consequences of his actions or he has the intention to screw people over at every chance he gets. Either one of the three and I can't see how your calling him and "getting involved" helps the situation. Normally I can see how you facilitate a situation, but I don't think that is the case with this problem.

I don't think it can hurt to have as many people trying to help as can. Ray is a good and honest man and he gave Chris the benefit of the doubt and so far Chris stuck it to him. That is about hte lowest it gets.

Don't misunderstand my intentions, I believe Spork's interventions help. I'm leary about someone attaching themselves to Chris with the intention of helping him resolve something only to get stabbed in the back yet again.

I re-read my posts and Ricks, I do believe Spork's intervention has the intent of helping Ray over Chris. I'm just concerned about someone sticking their neck out for Chris yet again, with the inevitable back stabbing waiting in the wings. Just my $.02

I explained this much in a PM to Spork, but in more detail. I am on the fence on how pressure might facilitate the situation, but you never know. Short of Wayne (or someone else) paying a visit and making Chris pawn all his stuff, I don't know what can be done to resolve the situation. Please don't misunderstand this statement to infer physical interference, I am merely suggesting that someone take Chris by the hand and walk him through the process of selling what he can to pay the debts he owes. It's apparent that Chris will either not evaluate the ramifications of his actions or he just doesn't care. Ray isn't the only one that Chris still owes, there are a plethora of other individuals still seeking compensation or recovery of goods.

In the end, the only things I want are for Ray to get what he's owed and for Chris to learn his lesson from this experience. I would like to see a resolution to other deals that are still outstanding with regards to Chris, but I feel those are unlikely goals to achieve at this point. The primary goal being Ray's recovery of a debt owed, everything else is secondary until that mission has been completed.
