What fun! Blade helis are nigh on impossible to get in UK, and the CX2 is supposed to be the best CoAx heli around - so I got ready heli to ship me a Blade CX2 last week and I'm very impressed......
No frequency legality issues cos its on 2.4GHz not 72MHz, I can do fig 8 's in my small 7 x 8 (thats feet) dining area and land it on a shoe box.
Ok, its really a toy, hates any wind and is limited in what its capable of, but for playing with in the house its tremendous fun and like most (all) little CoAx jobs its ready to fly out of the box.
Only gripe is tail drift, just can't trim it for true hands off hovering and the tail trim lever is pretty ineffective. But thats all trivial. The CX2 is great value for money :D

Hi Rick got my blade cx2 last week . I like the channel 5 switch for extras just gotta think of something to do with it .maybe a couple of lights under the sticky out bits :dontknow . mine seems to sit pretty well hands off, it uses most of the same parts as the medevac almost the same apart from the battery cage. flight characteristics are the same( sedate) I have used different servo horns on the medevac to get a bit more swash movement and an 11.1 honeybee battery got 25 minutes flight. taking all five helis down the sports hall tomorow will be fun ,might be costly in spares

fubar. Hey, you fitted a 3s pack to a CX2? Were the motors ok with that? I fitted the optional heatsink cos they get a bit warm with just the 2s packs. Er, or do you mean you got away with it on the medevac heli.
BTW, Have you found any UK outlets for CX2 spares? I'm ok for now but I can see the need for some spare blades due to furniture strikes etc.
BTW2: Have you noticed how ripped off we are? Check out the spares prices on US sites like Readyheli, really cheap. My boys got an Easycopter Co Ax heli and his blades are £12 for a set of 4, in the US they are about 2 quid!!!!!
Also, I think those stub wings would look great with small LED bulbs in - Hey, Night flying, yeah!!!!

Hi havnt done anything to the cx2 ,messed with the medvac got the upgrade motors for about 6 quid for 2 from the states.the 4 in 1 seems to handle the 11.1 ok using a heat sink .haven't found any dealers in the UK selling cx2 or spares i think there must be some kind of agreement going on. to be honest if us brits had a choice between the cx2 and medevac i think the cx2 would win . medevac blades cost £8.99 +p&p for 1 set, blades for the cx2 (which are exactly the same are about $3.79 for 2 sets.any way took the cx2 down the sports hall at a local school i could hover the thing at about 10ft and put the tx on the floor only a very slight forward movement only gripe is that it is very slow but i guess its a coax so was expecting that great fun bit of kit nice one yanks. :noteworthy
p.s
superskids do a7.4v 1300 mah 18c battery gonna try that :badair: next.

Once you can fly well , move the swash links out 1 hole on the servo arms, makes a big difference. You will not say it is so slow after.

Have done that with he medevac and it does make a difference, just have to be sure you dont go to far or you get blade slap. Then you have to use the longer inner and outer shaft from the vortex.

Moving the links out on the servo arms means you don't get a vertical run from the servo to the swash - does that matter?
About agreements! I wouldn't be at all surprised. I tried to buy a computer game that had been out in the States for over a year, but wasn't released in Europe. A couple of US vendors told me that they were not 'allowed' to export the product to Europe. Six months after that we got a release for the game in UK to coincide with the movie release of the game. The only reason (excuse) I can think of for models not being exported is the regional limitations of patents and copyright. But what nonsense, because you could happily visit America, buy a model and take it home quite legally as far as I'm aware. Can you imagine Customs and Excise stopping you at Heathrow 'I'm sorry sir, we have reason to believe you maybe carrying an illegal toy helicopter' yeah right! Better get the rubber gloves on then boys!!!!!!!

One hole out makes a big difference in flight response and usually doesn't require much to get it flying great, just use some trim to make it fly level in a hover. You could also adjust the lower rotor head up or down to make the swash nice and level, or you can screw the links in or out to make it all level. With a Good TX you can just program out most interaction. If you go out 2 or 3 holes out then there is alot more involved, both mechanical adjustments, TX programming of endpoints etc. to make it fly nice and tight like it does stock.
