Ok i have a GV-1 governor and for some reason the governor will not turn on unless i have my throttle hold switch on. When i check the switch positions on the gov. screen they match what i have them set for. im not sure what is causing this mixing function but i need help. Oh and im using a 9chp radio.

Sounds like you have the on/off plug from the GV1 plugged into an AUX channel and have the throttle hold switch assigned to that channel.

Don't know what heli you have.
But here is how things should be hooked up. To get full benefit of the GV1 you should be using a 9 channel receiver.

Ch1 Aileron
Ch2 Elevator
Ch3 Throttle ( one lead from GV1 will plug into this channel) Servo will plug in GV1
Ch4 Rudder ( Lead from Gyro) tail servo will plug into gyro
Ch5 Gyro ( Aux lead from gyro that controls gain and mode)
Ch 6 Pitch ( collective)
Ch7 Aux 1 ( on/off lead from GV1)
Ch 8 Aux2 ( speed control lead from GV1)
Ch 9/Battery Power to receiver from switch

Personally I would get rid of the Gem 2000. But if you must use it, you can use a Y harness on any channel and plug the Gem into one side of the Y and the servo into the other.

Without seeing the program in the radio. It is difficult to say what you need to change.
I suggest going into the SW CD on the GV1 menu and see if you have a switch other than throttle hold that will turn the GV1 off and on. Try different switches till you see the SW CD screen change from Off to ON when switch is flipped.

Thanks for the help david. I put the connections just as you said except i only have a 8 channel reciever so the speed control is connected to a y harness with the batt, but i think its working right. Is it ok to have a 3 pos switch turn the gyro on then into two diff rpm settings. One thing that i didnt get was on the gv-1 control display the rpm settings for s1 s2 and s3 are backwards so i have my s3 setting as off, s2 is set at 1650, and s1 is set as 1800. Im sure ill have more questions later. and thanks again for the help no one that i fly around has even seen a governor actually on a heli besides mine.

i have my s3 setting as off, s2 is set at 1650, and s1 is set as 1800.

That is simple fix. Just reverse the AUX channel in the transmitter that the lead from the GV1 that controls speed is plugged into. OR you can leave it the way it is. It will work just the same.

I have set up a 9C for pilots. But truthfully I am not that familiar with it. I can program it when I have it in my hands. That is because I have been using Futaba for a long time and familiar with how the radio works.
I think the 9C has more than 3 free mixers.

From page 53 of the 9C manual

Additionally, the 9C ACRO and GLID programs both provide 5 linear and 2 curve fully-programmable mixes (HELI
provides two linear and one curve) that allow you to set up special mixes to resolve flight difficulties, activate additional
functions, etc.
Let’s look quickly at a few examples that are features we’ve already covered. This may help to clarify the mix

In heli mode there is only 3 mixes on the 9C

Even the 9C Super manual on page 54 states the same as above.
Those are what are called free mixers that are fully programable. There is also other dedicated mixers in the radio. Don't see a reason that you would need more than 3 free mixers with the 9C.
