First and for most, My name is Rusty Howard. I want to make sure the people who don't know me, Know I am a hobbiest first. I have been in the RC Heli hobby for 15 yrs, back when the mechanical gyros was the hot item newly introduced. WOW! Have we come a long way!
The Hurrican 50 is in fact very simular to the AS 50. That being said, RjX has made a few changes to in-prove on it's design while keeping in mind what a good design it already was. The differences are made in the frame lighting cutouts and the throttle servo has been changed from a horizontal plane to a vertical plain. the Frames are made of G-10 or we have an option of CF which is offer in our carbon fiber line, if anyone has a AS50 and would like a CF frame set we can help them out. Along with metal upgrades.
All of our Hurrican parts (OEM/ Up-grade alum.) will work on both the Hurrican and the AS along with some other popular brand of helis. The Hurrican 50 has been said by some well respected pilots in the hobby to have a 90 like feel to it in the air, I would have to agree.
RjX of USA offers the same kit as JR's Airskipper 50 but, for less $$$$'s. metal blade grips, half metal swash, metal auto hub ect.(Hurrican intro Kit HN1001)
Hurrican 50.....399.99/ Airskipper 50.....549.99
Both of these use the same materials in them and offer the same quality parts and design. The fiberglass canopy is a very good quality as is the AS50, but We have shaved off a little weigh here. The Hurrican has three options for the canopy, All the same fiberglass/shape but molded through yellow, red,or white. This allows the fellow hobbiest to install decals and go fly.If you like to paint your canopies and fins that is an option too with the Hurrican's canopy.
Hurrican uses the popular Push/Pull control system that has been a proven design for yrs. A driven tail by belt gives a quit but very good tail authority during autos. The Hurrican carries a 420cc fuel tank and uses a 87T spit main gear, snuggled in a very strong stacked frame design. If you like to have complete, predictable control over your helicopter, looking for high end quality and enjoy having the WOW factor all the while, the Hurrican 50 is for you.
Please keep in mind this is not in the class of the plastic model, the Hurrican 50 (intro Kit)is a step above and considered to be an entery level to the higher end larger helicopters.
The real cool part about the HURRICAN 50 is it can be converted over to "ELECTRIC"!
Yes, thats right, your 50 nitro can become the 50 "E" with a conversion kit RjX sells for 39.99, of coures theres a few other things to complete this conversion, but RjX of USA has thought of that to... we offer the conversion kit with pinion to match our main gear so there is no guessing, we sell a 14 pole 480KV motor that moves this Hurrican with a 10s battery and a 85amp ESC.
Give the Hurrican 50 a try, it's a high quality, very smooth heli.
Sorry I was so winded but I have so much to say about the Hurrican. It is just a really good helicopter :clappp

The Hurrican 50 is a very high quality machine, but without having a good company to back it up the quality would not matter much.
That is why I'm glade to say I'm the guy responsible for the support of the Hurrican here at RjX of USA. "Rusty Howard"
In the very near future you'll see the Hurrican showing up in some select hobby shops. As my main concern is support of the Hurrican and pilots who have purchased them to be covered with parts support at all times. That being said, I will control the amount of Kits that will be sold, we must build the kits sales along with the parts. In other words, I stock parts to support each kit that leaves our shipping dept. This is the only way to guarantee parts availability at all times.
The Hurrican 50 really is a fun machine. It's the 50 that "you'll think is a 90" The Hurrican doesn't know it's only a 50.
Shhhhhhhhhh! I'm not tell'n
Thanks Rusty
