I have a tritan jr. so what I guess I am asking is can I just plug it up and fast charge or does the DX6 have some kinda diod that will fry the DX6 if I do. I was at a club today and the guy pluged his CAP9 in and 25 mins later he was fully charged. So can the DX6 do that to? :dontknow

Spektrum support advise maximum charge rate of 1A through the Tx charging socket. The stock battery is only 600mAh so my advice would be no more than 300mA charging in general or 600mA if you are in a tearing hurry but mind the pack temperature.

thank you kgfly for your response what if it removed the batt. from the TX. it is a Ni-Cd and I thought you could charge a Ni-cd in about 15-30 mins.?

To charge it in 15-30 mins. You have to use a charge rate of 1.2 to 2.4 amps. I would only charge it at a max of 1C which is 600 mah. The battery will probably charge in about 30-40 mins since it should not be completely dead. That is at the 600 mah charge rate.

High-discharge rate NiCds can be fast charged above 1C. The cheap consumer-grade low-discharge rate NiCds used for Tx/Rx packs are not well suited to fast charging. Many people do it without undue troubles, I don't risk it since charging my Tx is more a once a week exercise than every day and at 0.5C takes under an hour since as David says, it's never completely flat anyway.

thank you 30-45 mins is fine I was just looking for a field fix. I was out flying and my batt in my DX6 went dead so game over for me that day. I was just wanting to know so if it happens again I can still fly and 30-45mins is still fast by lipo terms and I don't have to make a cable for the batt. I can just charge though the TX.

Just be careful about the polarity, Spektrum (JR) charge plugs are the reverse of what you expect being positive on the outside and negative in the centre. Check in the DX6 manual and make very sure of your cable before you turn on the charger.
