On a standard Intrepid gasser, if weight needs to be added to the tail, is it acceptable to add stick-on weights to the inside of the tail fin where it attaches to the boom? If not, where is the correct location to add weight if the nose is a little too heavy with a half tank of fuel? Thanks.

I normally drill a hole(s) through the weight and attach it using the fin mounting screws.
Murphy's law says that if the weight falls off it will find its way to somewhere that you really don't want it, like one of the spiny thingies. :arggg:

Can't say as I have ever had a standard gasser that was tail heavy or maybe I should say ,,that I noticed was tail heavy . I always balance with no fuel as they control fine with a full tank of fuel and being a little nose heavy .

But if you are wanting to keep it CG'ed for 3-D ,,yes I can see your though process.
I would just mount the tail servo back on the tail boom as close to the tail as needed to use working weight that is fastened on good ,,,as Jeff talked about the Murphy's law ,,which always works by the way . :bomb:

Give Chris a call and he can probably hook you up with the right parts for this because he has the tail mounting hardware in stock as they are using them on the AP birds that way.

The placement of the tail servo could be moved to CG it right and then make the conrtol rod the right length.
Good luck and let us know how it works.

My CG was fine until I installed a Duralite battery system and now, with a full tank of fuel, it does seem to be a little nose heavy. But with what you're saying I think I'm okay because with the tank empty I am a little tail heavy. Our temperature never got above zero today so it's going to be a while before I'm able to fly to check it out. Thanks for all the info.
