Man this thing is smooth! No blade tracking required and zero vibes I love it! It really seems to be on par with the Ion and it's definetely a Miniature Aircraft machine! Enough of that , Two flights today first one to set the tail rotor pushrod and tracking so about 3.5 minutes total flying and the rest spool up & down time. Second flight 4.5 minutes Basic FF and a few flips & rolls and some inverted, still need some work to get dialed in. Battery temps wer 103.5F to 106F, ESC temp 106F, and motor temp 165F at abou 75f ambient. I'm checking the capacity draw from the batteries now will post the results later.. I am a little concerened on the motor temp with the hacker but it may be due to all the belts breaking in, anyone have any experience with the temps on this motor?

hey , from what other pilots said , you dont have to run the motor belt banjo tight , what headspeed ? gov ? what % gov ?
YEH! its a MA aircraft huh? flys great

Didn't have my tach with me but had the Gov set a t 80%. I set the motor belt a lttle tight thinking it would loosen up but it didn't change at all. That may be the reason the motor is warm. What are you guys seeing temp wise with other motors?

I only no of one person that ran that motor , Eric , he will have to answer that , I do know Hackers run warmer than other motors , 165 isnt to bad , anything over 180 to me is my limit , my Actros and Kontronics dont get no where near 150

Well I think I found 15 degrees of the heat. Checked my temp gun against the thermocouple probe and the gun reads 15 to 18 degrees higher. I know the thermocouple is correct i calibrated it at work. I will give it another shot tomorrow and see how it does. Even at 150f I agree thats a little hotter than I would like.

I decided to change my motor set up due to two factors. First, the run time with the Hacker with mild 3D flights would have been around the 5 minute range max. Second the hacker ran a little on the warm side without a conopy here in Florida where the weather is rather mild right now. I wasn't sure how it would react in the summer heat with a conpy installed. I installed the 45-08 with the 14.25 ratio and the results were more fitting to my needs.
Ambient Temp 78F
Battery Temps 101F
Speed Controller Temp 102F
Motor Temp 110F
Flight Duration 6 Mintutes
MAH expended 2000 FP 3700's
I can easily fly for 6.5 to 7 minutes at 80% capacity limit
There is a down side on power with this set up, the Hacker has more punch for sure but the Tango has respectable power to do all the manuevers I can do without any problems. I can just fly longer which is a real plus for me. Anyway just some feedback on what i see between these two set ups.
