Hi folks!
I just bought a new laptop and can't find my Reflex CD. Using my wireless network, would I be able to simply transfer the Reflex program files from my old computer to my new one? Or is there something in the registry to prevent this?
Thanks!
Ed

Burn the files to a CD and put it in your laptop or simply use your LAN. :)

Just a straight transfer seems to work fine. I've done it a few times to avoid the hassle of reinstalling the patches.

Windows programs must run the installer to setup the required registry entries, install DLL's into the windows system folder etc. Once its installed you can usually get away with copying the folder to avoid doing updates but for an initial install, unless the program is so old it will run on DOS then no you will have to install it.

That's true in most, but not all cases. Things like games and flight-sims are usually fine as long as they have DirectX.
It's simple enough for the program to create new registry entries if it doesn't find any (logged in as another user perhaps), and DLL's don't need to be registered if they're in the application path or system folder.

Try it and see. My money is on "it wont work", I'll buy you beverage of your choice at the next fly in we both attend if it does.
But then again I'm no computer expert.
