A buddy of mine convinced me I should buy a new MX-400 (just the standard $90 kit) to replace my old 400 size helicopter and I could not beat the price. It's a brand new kit coming in on tuesday from Tower Hobbies. Over the past few days I've been reading and I guess around march of last year there were lots of reports of the center hub failing but they seem to have dropped off.
My question is: Has the center hub been fixed now or is this still an issue. Should I be immediatly going out and upgrading the center hub to the cnc version?
Thanks

I have seen no reports of the plastic hub being improved.
I upgraded to the aluminum hub after 4 plastic units broke, 1 defective and 3 operator induced failures. I have had several crashes with the aluminum hub and it has not bent or broken

I guess it's probably safest to just upgrade it right away then. My buddy has well over 30 flights on his heli with the stock plastic hub but I don't think I'm willing to chance that.

Here's something interesing. I actually emailed the tech support address for the MX-400 about the hub issue. They acknowldeged that early on there was a problem with the hubs but that the issue has long since been resolved.
