The time finally comes to build this Turmoil kit I bought a couple months ago. This'll get a variable pitch prop setup from Hacker.
Looks like lots of guys have had difficulties with the control surface hinges and other parts of this build. What methods are folks using to attach their surfaces?
I've read that low-temp hotmelt glue is best for building foamies. Is there anything that works better?
Thanks.

Be careful withthose $#%@ hinges, they are a major PIA. I used foam safe CA and kicker when I built my sons Reflection. I used low temp hotmelt glue for the servos and misc. radio equipment. I saw a hint about putting a bit of vaseline on the hinge clips to keep CA from getting on them.
Good luck with the build!

I like the Robart micro hinge points.. Easy to install and work very well. I usually seal the hinge gaps with vinyl tape, but it's probably not necessary...

For flat foamies (and other foamies) I use tape to hinge. Hinge and seal in one step.
Blenderm tape is best, but clear packing tape works fine.

Thanks for the replies.
Anyone have any problems using low-temp hot-melt? Is there any more appropriate adhesive to use on the foam-to-foam joints?

You can also use foam safe CA, UHU Por/Creative, epoxy.

I have built two flat-outs and have had no problem with the plastic hinges. They are a bit tedious at first. Slide the carbon rod out of the c shaped hinge pieces before you ca them.
I had issues with the Turmoil breaking the horizontal foam right in front of the wing from normal (foamy) flying, not crashes or abuse, and using the stick motor. My Reflection with the brushless and twice the power never had this issue.

I used 2" wide Blenderm tape. It's available at many hobby shops and always at medical supply houses.
