Newbie help

First, I would like to thank every one at this forum. I'm new to helicopters and the information here is incredible! Santa brought me a T-rex SA, I've been watching the finless video's on setup and I'm very confused. On the CCPM setup (part 2) video, Finless places a bubble level on the flybar paddle and go's through removing swash plate interactions. When I tried that, my paddle angled down and the bubble level fell off. In the video, the paddle stay's in one place. My paddle's move up and down freely. Here's my newbie question, do I have my linkages set up wrong? Or am I missing something very basic?

I just use a finger to hold the flybar from dropping.
