Thanks Michaelinpr, I'm sold on 620 size

yeah def like 620 size it gives it that big heli (700 size) feel but still with the bonkers power of a 12s 600 size bird

That is a better explanation than mine. " ...but still with the bonkers power of a 12s 600 size bird."

Ok, purpose built as a 550. I have an Align 550 for comparison.

Fusion 50 with 550 tail boom
Mavrikk 550 G5 PRO VST Flybarless Carbon
Beastx
Spektrum 8000 rcv / JR9503
JR 8917 HV cyclic
Outrage BL9188 tail servo
2500 Outrage 2S lipo flight pack
KDE DIRECT 600XF-1175
CC ICE HV120
Stock tail blades
Sky Lipo 5000 40c
2300 rpm
13 degrees pitch

This setup is not as "violent" as a 700MX 12s setup, but it is definitely powerful and noticeably faster than my Trex 550. Overall, I enjoy this heli more than my Align. There are a few issues with the Outrage build, but most of this has work arounds (gears, tail drive gear mesh).

In this configuration, it is very light and very fast. The small overall disk is not the best for autos, but nimble on the cyclic otherwise.

Finished my build two weeks ago with some semi-pro advice: awesome precision, power & response - Fusion 50 FBL: BeastX AR7200BX Rx/FBL unit, Kontronik Jive 80+ HV w/dual BEC feed to Rx at 6V (motor governed to N=0/60%, IU1=65%, IU2 =70%), Scorpion 4025-550, Outrage hi-voltage digital Torq 9180 cyclic servos, 9188 tail servo, 12S Outrage packs - NRG 6S 3300 35C x 2, Radix 600 FBL mains, stock Outrage 95mm carbon tail. This bird ROCKS! 4-5 minute flights @ 55% depletion.

Are you using the kontronik BEC to supply the Torq 9180 servos?

I'm planning on using a Quantum 4135- 530KV on my Fusion. The idea is to be able to share parts with a Goblin 630 if I decide to get one. The issue is that the 4135 is 100g heavier (440g) than the recommended 4125-560 (340g) motor. It is also 10mm longer. I was also planning on a Hobbywing 70HV ESC.

Will the 4135 degrade performance of the Fusion 50 in any way due to its extra weight? Also, how can I prevent this motor from drawing more than 70A to ensure that I don't blow my ESC? Thanks.

You will love that motor.. the extra weight is negligible.. especially with the power you will have. Even though the motor is more powerful that doesn't mean it will draw more current during normal flying... the extra power will only come in to play when you want it if that makes sense.

100g is nothing on a heli as large at the 50. I use 4000mah packs (heavy) and I don't notice it at all... on 12s there is just so much raw power!

Thanks. How about the Align 700mx 510kv or 530kv? It is slightly lighter than the 4135-530 but has the same power outputs. I'm wondering why those are not as popular as Quantum or Scorpion motors given their price tags and specs (atleast on paper).

Could you elaborate?

I know of three, 2 700mx 510kv and 1 750mx, shorting out and melting the motor wires off the esc.

All three on different speed controllers, Not sure what is up, but 3 is too many for comfort for me.

Just last night at the field a friends Synergy E7 went berserk .... acted like the vbar sensor was bad.. turns out it was his 700mx. New Scorpion ordered today.

Yeah, Rob's was the 750mx I referred to. he was telling me about on Facebook. Sucks! Lucky his didn't burn the wires off like the two 700mxs did. We all though the battery was on fire on the last, but was the motor burning through the wires.

oh yeah.. it was a 750mx.

Hi@all
It's my first post here. I will buy a fusion 50 fbl in the next few days. But I'm not sure witch motor i should use. Setup: 12S (2x6S LiPos), Jive 80+ HV, VStabi, Outrage Servos.
My decisions -until now- is to use one of these motors here:
- x-era Motor 4025-560kv
- Hacker A50-12L Turnado
- Hacker A50-10L Turnado

Wich should I use? What's the difference from 12L to 10L?

I'm thankful for your help

Chris,

the A50-10L (http://www.hacker-motor-shop.com/e-vendo.php?shop=hacker_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=15726703&t=3&c=31&p=31) is a 580kV motor while A50-12L (http://www.hacker-motor-shop.com/e-vendo.php?shop=hacker_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=15726704&t=3&c=31&p=31) is 470kV. The 12L is more of a 700 class motor IMO.
The 10L works great for me with 620 SAB blades.

If you're not looking for ridiculous power or want to fly <600mm blades, X-Era will be more efficient.

Ok, I guess I can post mine now that I've basically got this heli 99% sorted. Flew my maiden and stripped a main gear hovering... found out pinion was wrong mod. Bored out a pinion with correct mod but slightly lower tooth count to fit the motor shaft, blew another gear away. Must have set mesh wrong cuz I put yet another gear in and this one held up for a couple moderate flights. Finally got my 15t 0.8m 6mm shaft pinions and put the delrin gear in :D So hopefully that's the end of my trouble. Shout out to Baconraygun for giving me a quick gear mesh tip, got it setup with zero backlash now for my next flight (real maiden??). Here's how I'm rollin:

12s setup
CC ICE 80HV (1800, 2050, 2250 headspeeds)
CC Cap pack
Align 700m 510kv motor
15t pinion
DS610 cyclic
DS650 tail
GY611 gyro (yes, I went into the "secret" menu and changed bandwith for servo)
Hobbywing 8A/15A max UBEC with 2S lipo
AR8000 Rx
600mm blades
2x 3000mah turnigy's (flying gentle for 4min and putting 1750 back in... hoping for 4:30-5:00 harder flying)

Be blessed
