FYI: posted also on rcfan.com/forum.
I just bought myself a 14MZ and so far doing great in the programming (thanks to some of the nice threads on this forum). Before buying I surveyed the world market and asked a million questions - particularly about why you have to have it "serviced" to change Mhz zone. I've since read quite a few threads and I feel like I am detecting some avoidance on this issue :!:
So, my friendly question is: I fail to understand why it is particularly sensititve for forum users to talk about the zone changing utility function when other issues can be discussed and shared openly? The way I see it is this:
1) ONCE behind and into utilities that are not "available", have you not then already taken the step into the dark world and done something that was ment to be restricted to Futaba service only?
2) Why bother about protecting the zone changing utility? It can (in my opinion) only be a serious pain to some users who fly around to different channel/bandwith zones and who paid a million for a very nice and capable radio system. I see only one purpose for it - restricting consumers in buying the system from the lowest priced world wide (AND Futaba approved) dealer.
:bomb: :bomb:

PS! The issue is full system access or not - not another US$/Euro/buying restriction debate as previously posted regarding other hardwares
