I am just ordering the last of my parts to get the Swift in the air.

When I got my barley used Futaba 9CHP, it came with 4 Futaba 3001 standard servos. Will I be OK to use these for main rotor controls for learning, or should I buy some digital servos straight away?

I have a 9254 for the tail rotor, but was hoping to spread the cost of the digi servos a little down the line. After I get past hovering, I would get the new servos, and then I can use the 3001's for camera controls when I go AP with the Swift.

So waddaya think? Can I start with the Analog 3001 servos for alieron, pitch, and elevator? Or do I have to spend the extra $$$ now?

It's so close I can taste it!

Thanks,
-A

Hi, in my opinion those will work ok for learning to hover. Keep an eye on them for excess slop and such and it should be fine.

You could look at the 3151 digital sport servos. I have those on mine, and are working good at a great cost.

Regards,
Trevor.

Yeah, the 3151's are what I had in mind, and I can get them for $29 Canadian each. Just dropped another $400 today though, so they can wait a bit.
