I have a really crappy brushed 400 motor on one of my planks (its ESC is even built onto the motor!!). I have an Align 420LF Brushless and 25A ESC I want to put on, but I haven't yet bought a mount.

Can I use a 3S 2100 20C LiPo on that brushed motor? Or will it be too powerful for the motor?

Thanks!

I fly several cheap brushed motors on lipo's including the Blade CP and a mini-slinger. The question is can the motor and ESC take the voltage/amps. The battery chemistry doesn't matter. 12V is 12V if it comes from NiCD, Lipo or a car battery. Amps will be dermined by the load you have on the motor and the ability for the power system do deliver to the motor.

Be aware, the stock motor in my mini-slinger lasted less than 5 minute with a 3S lipo. Replaced the motor with a motor from a UCD3D-EP and it's been strong since.

Bottom line - what is that 400 motor you have rated for?
