View Full Version : Another g90 post
Ok so I have my g90 gyro setup on my BCPP now. I have both the gain and proportional pots all the way to the left. I can set the gain from the xmitter so the tail doesn't wag but seems to twitch more now than before without the gyro. Almost like the gyro compensates for some movement and the tail freaks out for a fraction of a second, speed of the tail rotor and all. Need more adjustment on the cyclic as well to hold a hover. A lot more up and down movement in order to maintain a certain height.
I'm only hovering indoors at the moment.
Also I have to adjust the rudder trim way right most flights whereas before I wouldn't have to trim it much at all.
Anyboby else have similar result going to the g90?

Sounds like the gain is too high still, turn it down a few and retry it. After it is settled unplug the battery and reset your rudder trim to neutral. If it still requires trimming, then without a computer TX your kind of limited in easy solutions.
Thanks, I tried lowering the gain and 2 seems better. I was at 6. Still need about 2 clicks shy of full right rudder to hold the tail but a major improvement. I've got my sights on the Spektrum system for the near future!

SO i have to ask because i am a newbie. What exacly does the G90 do. I know from what i read on my manual for hte CP PRo it locks the tail motor but what purpose is that. I believe the manual explains it, but being new to the terms i am a bit lost.
Thanks Muck

It tries to restore the heli to its original heading unless you input rudder, while the rate gyro (in the 3 in 1) senses movement and applies counter torque..but its not as strong a lock. Thats my understanding.
With my G90 on my CPP I can hover left hand off the stick. It will drift a bit but not much. It will also hunt up and down, but its stable enough to just fly right stick for periods of time.
It will also work as a budget gyro for a 450 class heli. Don't really need a Futaba 401 etc. for just sport flying/learning I think.
