Fox News interviewed a couple of Air Force guys who brought in an RC heli with video capabilities.
they say it's 5lb but it looks heavier than that to me.
They call it a "Condor".

that's pretty cool stuff there! it's about time they put something like that to work over there where it's needed.

I'd hate to see the price tag on that little booger! Although it does look pretty simple.

sure would like to know who's building those little buggers.. looked like they might be using vario mechs to me.

Looked like a logo 14 based ship to me. Has to be something small to be in the 5lb range though. Very cool stuff

that's a definite posibility too, and it makes sense.. after all an electric would make more sense then a gas heli for something "stealthy" especially for what their using it for. whatever it's based on, its pretty cool!

Looks like a Vario head on it. 10 in N.O. following Katrina? I'm surprised there wasn't any mention of that on the news.

that's what I thought too and why i thought it could be vario based, but the mikado stuff looks similar too.

Hmmm, a search shows a very different UAV under the USAF Condor UAV. Why would they share names? Anyway, too bad there was no flying videos.

Yeah, according to a google search I found that the Condor is a fixed wing UAV made by Boeing. :dontknow
that's interesting, cause I know that Craig Shepherd with Whirlybird makes UAVs for the military. The last I had spoken with him, he was using Vario mechanics as a base for his helis. But, the pictures on his website don't match up with what I'm seeing on the video. The pics on the site are a few years old though. hmmm.

It looked like the ball doesn't have a roll axis. This company could have something to do with it. They build all kinds of custom helos.
