What radio system are you using in your leppies? Also are you or have you had any problems with glitching?

I'm thinking about running my lepton on FM PPM for the first few flights until I determine if I have any radio interference problems then maybe pop in a pcm receiver for that added security.

I have a 14MZ and I am using a G3 RX on mine.
NO ISSUES even though the Hirobo web page says not to use a G3 on this heli...

Good component placement and smart wiring should leave you glitch free.

Skektrum DX7 with AR7000 RX. I built my Lepton last month and have 21 flights logged so far. No glitches, just solid flying! You can view My Gallery to see RX placement. Very compact and easy to maintain.

I saw that in my Lepton manual. Does anyone know what not using a G3 in the Lepton is all about?

Spektrum DX7 now with AR6000 receiver but I was using a Spektrumized 6102 prior to the DX7 with this receiver and no problems! No glitches.

How are you guys configuring the AR7000, and gyro sensor on the lepton?

How are you guys configuring the AR7000, and gyro sensor on the lepton?

just setup my Hirobo LeptonEX using the DX7 and the Futaba GY401. It was a little confusing at first. I wasn't able to get the gear switch to work the way I wanted so I ended up doing the following:

1. (Input Select) (Hold left keys down while power is turned on)
Aux2: Gyro
Gear: INH

2: Gyro single lead plugged into Aux2

3: (Gyro Sens)
Auto

Rate:
0: 65%
1: 25%

F. Mode : Norm:0 / STNT:0 / Hold: 0

This setup ends up giving you AVCS mode in all your flight modes (Norm, STNT and HOLD). If you don't want AVCS mode for a particular flight mode change the F: mode to 1 and AVCS is now off. Just remeber when you first trun on the gyro it needs to be initalized in AVCS mode.

Cal

Cal, thanks for the info. The first thing i wanted to know was where people where putting the two parts of the AR7000 receiver along with the 401 sensor...

DX-7 Should be in on Monday so the fun begins very soon, can't wait!

roboRon,

Check out my Gallery Pics and you can see how I did my DX7 setup on my Lepton. The remote rx is mounted using some foam wraped and taped around it.

Cal
