Knocked out a couple packs on my 600 tonight and wanted to try to get my throttle hold working but to no avail...

I go into the THR-HOLD menu and set it like so:

MIX>INH
POSI> 0%

I spooled up to about 50% throttle and hit the switch.. Nothin', nada, zip.. Helis still spinning like normal so I break out the manual...

Pg 83 shows the setup for the hold function and says on the 9CH, switch E down is the default for Throttle Hold and it's not reassignable.

Page 85 says on the 9CH that switch E controls the pitch curves for NOR, IDL1 and IDL2 and this switch position is not adjustable..

huh??

How can throttle hold be on the same switch as the idle ups? All my idle ups work fine.. Switch E up is Normal, Middle is ILD1 and down is IDL2..

Ideally, I'd like throttle hold to be on switch G or H, but I'm not seeing how this might be possible..

Gonna go hit up the manual again....

On the heli version of the transmitter.
The switch on the top right corner ( Switch G) towards the front of the radio will be the Throttle Hold switch. This is a two position switch. There is a momentary spring loaded switch (H) next to it towards the back of the transmitter.

The switches on the top left corner will be the idle up switches
Switch E on the front is a 3 position switch that is idle-up 1 and 2.
The switch (F) behind it is the idle-up 3 switch

In the instruction manual for the 9C super on page 88. They just have the switches identified wrong between the 9CH ( heli) and the 9CA ( airplane).

There is a picture of the airplane version (page110 and heli version (page 12) in the manual. You can see what each switch controls in those pictures.

If it is a 9C and not a super. The instructions on page 83 are the same on page 88 of the 9C Super manual. The picture page numbers are the same in both manuals.

Regular ol' 9CHP. Switches are ID'd properly per the pic on page 12.. Just set it all up again and hold is now working off switch G.

Thx!

When a function is set to 'INH' (inhibited) it means that the function is completely disabled in that model memory. The reading should be 'ON' or 'OFF' depending on the selected switch's position so toggle the MIX setting to enable the function.

The throttle hold function is fixed to switch G on a 9CHP (non super).

I have an airplane 9CAP Super. I just found out that for regular helis the hold switch is H, but for CCPM helis it is E. I think this might make for bad habit transfers, so I'm going to have to think about getting a heli 9CAP.

Has anyone else experienced the switch jumping around? I wonder if I could go into the setup menu and change this. I hesitate to, because I don't want to screw anything up, and beside, I don't know how.

If you get a heli 9CAP you would have the same transmitter you have now.

You need a 9CHP, that is the heli version. You can also send the Airplane version to Radio South or Hobby Services and they can convert it to a heli version. They will even put the heli labels on the transmitter if you want that done.

I've done that myself (without the labels, and probably lost the warranty too  ) but is not complicated at all if you can solder.

Oh, I 've moved the switches after reading a previous post on the subject. It's just that the throttle hold switch is not user definable, and it's in differennt places for diffent helicopter control systems H for regular control and E for CCPM. I like E better because it's where it is located on my controller for G3.

Unless there's and easy way to redefine the switch in the setup menu (or whatever it's called) I guess I'm stuck.

I got my TH switch programed to the same as RF G3 (the one on the right side, front, top) on the original airplane radio is labeled "G" (and there used to be a 3 pos switch there before the switch swapping).
As for the different options according to the different helicopter control systems I don't know.
Did you enter the service menu and changed the options there too???

Go to this website. I believe Angelos shows how to change the transmitters so that they default to Heli or Airplane versions.

www.model-gadgets.com

There is a place on the circuit board you change to make them airplane or heli versions in the software.

I have ccpm and mechanical helis on a 9c and 9c super and the throttle hold switch does NOT change when you change swash types.

Since my crash I think it time to setup my throttle hold and practice some auto's when I get back into the air. I turned on my throttle hold, do I need to make any other adjustments? The manual is kinda sorta greek to me...
