I've got this combo coming. Has anyone been using this Motor? Combo comes with50/80 ESC and a 4S 3700 or 4000 20 C lipo. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Al R.
1 TREX Helicam my own CCPM mod on HDE frame. HDE 450 with lots of Blue stuff. Blade CP resurrected for fun. Planks.
I would have thought that any of the A30 series was to small for a 30 size heli.
The 10XL and 8XL are use in the Quick of Japan EP8, and that only has a rotor diameter of 890mm. Lots of power for a small heli, but Swift???

I'm not looking for killer 3D, I want a sedate machine to start. I've got a couple of TREX's. 1 is a Helicam setup with a 9MP Fuji. I want the Swift for a camera platform and will probably end up with 550 mm blades at some point and a moderately low headspeed. I won't be carrying all that much weight all said and done. I want smooth, not crazy like my sport 'REX.

I know a fellow with that set up. The key is to use the proper pinion, good "high C" batteries ( he uses Flite-Power batteries and has over 100 cycles on each!!) and not to overload it with too much blade pitch.
He actually does some pretty impressive 3D with his the stock 520mm woodies (good funnels and piro-flips) and using a pinion that gives him about 1600 rotor speed
