Clay to the K and I go though the initial setup of the LogicTech LGT-6100T smart -Tail-Lock Gyro and Ultra High Speed Digital Servo.
http://www.LogicTech.co.kr
I need to apologize a bit because I forgot to shoot the part where we dialed in the tail but... it looks like we did it wrong anyway for "Maximum Pirouette Rate". In the back of the book it states to set you ATV to 140% in the radio THEN use the gyro menu to make sure you are not colliding with either end of the tail assembly when you go in either direction.
Shot in FS too! That's "Finless Style" :glasses2:

good effort, Bob is still God when it comes to quality rc instructional video.

Oh I know, it was an impromptu thing. Holding the camera by hand is a giant PITA. It was not to be "instructional" it was just supposed to be "informational". Not sure we accomplished too much of that either

Got some practice to get up to Uncle Bob's proficiency level. But good effort.
Need more info. on how the thing actually works. Got mine sitting in the box, waiting for the solid details from you experts.
Also, if you want to be taken seriously, you have to add all the legal mumbo-jumbo that the king uses.
Let us know how that puppy works out and thanks!

Anybody that thinks they are gonna grab a camera and do what Bob does on there first or second try will be disappointed.

Hey... not bad for a bunch of rank amatures
:lolol
No honeslty not bad! Thet gyro looks neat and SUPER FAST!
I think I would have tried flying it at defaults before screwing around dialing it up to 3D everything just to get a feel for it, and then start cranking on it. Something new like this may need tweaking to really understand what those settings do rather than jumping right in and crankin everything up. Just my thoughts.
Oh and get a tripod ;)
The accidental shots of Clay forehead scared me man ;)

Dog don't roll like that
Well dont call me up crying when your servo burns out ;)
Not saying it will but as you know people that do stuff liek that to the 611 burn them babies up!
Anyway have you flown the sucker with it yet?

Yes, but it was too f'ning cold out to video it. Well... not too cold to "video it" but too cold for me to want to stand out there to video it. OMG by the time we got done with the test flight and let Clay have a few flights on his Raptor our hands and ears were num. We went home had rum & cokes and Chinese food! (yum) Heat and drinks Alllllriiight!
Anyway during the test flights:
- We had to turn the gain WAY down (like 26)
- We also had to add 15% expo to the tail because it was just too much
- I did not get the piro rate I expected. About the same as before :dontknow
- It held ROCK SOLID in gusty high winds
This morning I changed the radio to 140%/140% at the end points (as the instructions suggest) but I have not flown it yet.
I will turn it down to 'High' just for you Bob ;)

Well if it works like the 611 or 401 crank up the end points on rudder to increase piro rate. I noticed the gyro had end point adjustments of it's own so increasing end points should not over drive the servo.

OK I just test flew it in the back yard :WOW
The piro rate is there now and in order for me to feel comfortable with the tail I had to put 40% expo in it
The "high" not "highest" cut the performance down to what I would call the "401 standard". In that it held pretty good and i fiddled with the gain to make it nice but, I was not super impressed.
Side note question: Since it was cold outside I noticed the heat of the motor when I pulled the Flightpower. Is it O.K. for the motor to be in the 140F (16C) range after 6 minutes of flight when it is 45F (7C) outside? The pack was only 95F (35C)

Yep in 80 degree weather here my Align motor is 175!!!

OK it was just that I could kind of "smell it" when I pulled the canopy
I am gonna get some other to fly it and give their thoughts.

The video was impromptu. Had I known it was going to be "all out", I would have cleared my table and changed the lighting. You can see the circle reflection of my desk lamp/magnifier on the manual a couple times.
It was kind of like...
"Hey, let's film this since we are going to install"
"Sure, why not"
"Put down the drink so you can hold the camera with two hands..."
" :tongue "
We'll do better next time when we actually prepare....

Any more flights with this Gyro? I always planned on a 611 to replace the 401 I am running, but I have heard good things about this combo. Please keep us updated :D

I also now have a 6100T
It is in my MXR Razor and working GREAT. 4 more flights yesterday!! (and I got to fly Steves Swift Bob!! :) Liked it a lot)
I am running 50% gain, and 90% expo on the rudder channel, 140 each way in ATV's. The thing holds GREAT!!
Loving it, will be replacing all my 611 and 601's over time. Yes it is DAMN GOOD!!
