Ok here we are in sunny Dubai,
The middle east is not the most stable of places to be at this moment in time, but the one saving grace is that there is a hobby shop in town that sells MA helis, So I ordered one. a fury tempest 3D, yeh har!
I can't wait, apparently "Mustafa" (I think thats his name), says it will be here in a week or so, I ordered an 8.18 kit for the OS 91 C spec, am I correct?
I have a TJ pro, a CSM SL 560 micro gyro, an OS 91 C spec and not much else, I like to fly with JR & was thinking of using 710NHP razors & the new 8511 high torque servos but I am not sure weather they are overkill, let me know if I have missed something please, PS money is no object there are some saving graces to being here.....! :glasses2:

Going to need a muffler unless you left that off the list. MPII or Hatori SB16 FH will work nicely. Need at least a 3000 mah battery to power that power hungry electronics system. Not really familiar with the JR 8511's but they should work just fine.
8.18 will work nicely with OS Cspec.
Also need starter and field equipment for the model unless you have all those items.

Yeh I thought about the power consumption, will the reciever board take the current of three 8511's and an 8700G plus maybe an 811 on the throttle, I was going to use a JR 770.

Yeah the receiver will handle them just fine. Just need a battery that will supply the demand and keep supplying it for 3 or 4 flights between charges.

your probably going to need a bigger receiver. With the setup you mentioned, I think your going to be needing around 8 channels. count your leads and figure out your channels to confurm this. For your setup, I'd recommend the JR 649-pcm receiver. It's my standard receiver for helis now.
If you don't have a radio capable of 8+ channels the new JR 9103 is an awesome high-middle end radio. The 9x (overseas version of 9103) is not the same in the programming dept but the physical characteristics are the same.
The 8511's are probably overkill. I couldn't find them on horizons site though but if they are similar to the 8611s then they are more than enough. i personally am using the 8311's and have been very happy with them.
Good Luck,

Thanks AL,
when you say a bigger rx you mean more channels right?
Also when you say 8311's they must have an quivalent number over here what are the specs on them, ie speed, torque & angle and I will look them up.
Thanks for the advise I am using a JR 3810 (8103) TX.

Degzie,
Servos:
You can use either the JR8311s (speed .18) or the Futaba 9252s (speed .14) - I have used both and they will work fine. Currently, we are using the 8103 but like the Futaba servos.
Battery:
As for the choice of battery...you may want to look at a set of Duralites instead of using a Nicad or Nimh. Check out my link below. You can get a complete setup with a 4000mah (redundant) pack that will allow you to fly around 12 to 14 flights without charging. Also, if you are considering these, you can upgrade a couple things like:
- Get the upgraded "switched" regulator - Voltage Regulator with Fail Safe Switch, 7.5 amp (#65051 - 5.1 volts) If the switch fails, it will fail in the "on" position instead of shutting off in flight.
- The heli package (60 - 90 size) comes with a standard "receiver" pack charger (7.4 volt output). You may also want to get a Duralite transmitter pack (11.1 volt output) and will need to upgrade to the 3-in-1 charger (#21711 - Charger 3@7.4 volt RX output - 1@ 11.1 volt TX output w/DC cable) This will charge 1 TX and up to 3 helis at once.
Blades:
Check out the "new" V-Blades - they will ROCK your heli. Since you are getting a Tempest, you will want to use 690s. Also, take a look at the paddles and tail blades.
Muffler:

Dean (Bonsai) is probably one of your closest resources in that area. We flew with him this past weekend (here in Virginia Beach) and he would also be able to help you out (he flys the Extremes and Tempest also).
