What is the recomended gain for a 401 9650 servo on a trex 450se i am running the gain at 80% Normal idle up 80% is that to high will that lower the life of the servo? Also i have a 401 9254 on a trex 600 gain 70% Normal idle up 70% is that to high and when i go in to idle up should the gain be lower or higher? It seems when im at lower gains my tail doesnt feel as rock solid like in punch outs ect. as when iam in higher gains any input appreciated. I hear you can degrade your servos if the gain is to high what is the recomended gains for these 2 birds so that servos will last. Thanks

Well how are you setting your gain? End points, a gyro screen? You should run enough to hold the tail well, on a Trex that usually ends up around 30 to 35 percent actual gain but like I said, it depends on how you are setting it.

What transmitter do you have?

I set up the gain with the atvs end points channel (5) 80% and also in the gyro menu set to E switch with my normal & idle ups 1&2 UP>80% CT>80% DN> 80% for trex 450se i have futaba 7c radio (80%gain trex450 se)- (70% gain trex 600 set up the same as 450se) . Hope this makes sense. Thanks

That gain setting is really high. I would suspect the servo is going to fail sooner than it should. Your really just overworking the servo with gain sensitivity that high.

Well if your end points are still at 80 they need to be set back to 100 if you use the gyro menu.

The gyro menu in the 7C displays actual gain, you should be in the 25 to 35 range for a Trex with a 9650 servo. As David said, you are just going to burn up a servo at that high gain.
