Ok this vid is a bit "graphic" as you guys call it. I don't know anything about this vid except what they're saying in it.
DISCLAIMER: This video is of a bloody wound not Heli flying
I guess the guy was listening to his music with his back to the flying field so he didn't hear anything coming. (http://tollerteppich.net/index.php?section=media1&act=download&path=/media/archive1/Modellbau/&file=Beinverletzung_Durch_Modellhubschrauber.wmv)

OH MY GOD!! He must have been in shock since he did not seem to feel it. Just another example as to how dangerous these lawnmowers can be!

Abit graphic could be some cussing and swearing

:dontknow I don't get it. I got a paper cut the other day and I swear it blead for hours and hurt like hell -This guy has a gaping hole in is leg -no blood and his is just relaxing on the ground? And what's with the dude poking the camera view into the hole? I would not have allowed that to happen. Maybe it is just me...

Finsta,
blunt trauma like that causes a different reaction than a paper cut. The body goes into shock from the rapid decrease in blood pressure. This causes the arteries to constrict quite a bit, limiting blood loss to the affected area. Kinda like a natural torniquet. Endorphines released minimize the perception of pain, so the guy was probably in less pain than you with a papercut...at least initially.

Thanks Erich -I know, your right. The body is an amazing thing and alows an individual to survive something like this. There had to be some blood initially. Guess they cleaned it up and the natural torniquet was kicked in at the time the video was done. Poor guy, that just looks horrible. I know I read another story where the pilot was hit in the throat -looking at this image, it is obvious, a hit like this could posibly take your head off! Crazy. I am even going to move my chopper in my sim out a few extra feet! To the guy with the injury, I wish you the best in your recovery.

OMG man... I am freaked out big time...... :WOW
It sure looks like a blade strike to the leg. YIKES..... scarry.
It would be good for learning reasons if someone could get more info on this incident!

Erich is right,
I managed to shot my finger off
Not a single drop of blood, didnt hurt, nothing, just felt numb.
Got to hospital before shock left me, else I would have been in a world of hurt.

Yep, Hehe, Younger years, raised on a farm(learned early how to weld etc), made a home-built shotgun (pistol size) had left pinky in front of the barrel when I screwed the barrel in, trigger pin was out, so when I screwed the barrel in, shot went off...
Now a days Im Mr Safety when it comes to handling guns :)

Yeah a buddy was catching a foamy ( 12-14 oz ) from a hover , it went up his arm with some nice evenly spaced slices 1/2" deep . Even the light stuff can hurt

Man! I have a strong stomach for stuff like that, but that still wanted to make me :puke
Looks like I have another reason to keep my friends even farther away from me and my helis when I'm flying!
