for $51 that looks like an amazing upgrade. Very light weight, CCPM, and CF and it's only $5 more than the helimax CCPM upgrade.

Has anyone tried it?

You still need the swashplate.

sure but for a complete frame this looks like quite a deal compared to the helimax one. I don't like that penny puke colored swash anyway and want to get one of the red ones.

I just ordered one from grandrc.com, it comes with the red swash, I think the're out of stock at the moment, I emailed grandrc, the guy told me he would he would add one to the site. I couldn't resist. When you buy helimax, your just buying a name, any x400 mod should do the trick.. Couldn't pass up the deal. For the actual helimax full CF frame lower, and upper half its like 90$, from tower hobbies. Screw that, I could buy another heli. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLLJ2&P=7

Heres the one I purchased, its only the upper half I suppose, but it comes with the red swash.

Isn't the one grandrc selling the same as this one at tower? That does not look like Carbon Fiber but the same aluminum frame that the stock frame is made out of like from here. At least that one has a red swash with it though unlike this one.

The $90 is the carbon fiber upgrade. That includes a lot more than the $45 one. It has both the upper and lower frames. The one from modefosheli looks like a better deal to me but you would end up probably spending only $5 less. $50 for the frame then $35 for the swash. Either way it's all carbon fiber.

cool I'd love to know what you think of it when you get it.

I'm sure I'll like it, as long as the servo horn and antirotation guide isn't a problem with my hs65's. I don't think it will be, especially if I use a round servo horn. 50 grams is alot of weight on these birds. I think my packs should like it alot more. It may be a while before I actually do the build, I still have some testing and I figure I'll atleast learn inverted hovering with the stock frame. If I can get one day with little or no wind :)

I used that frame and liked it. I chose it over the hlimax carbon frame because it has the esc tray (or receiver tray) over the battery which the helimax version does not.

Here are a couple pictures of an Mx450 with this frame installed. I recently sold this heli and I miss it already hehe. Very nice bird.

I really only see one thing I don't like, which is the extended balls on the swashplate, I see why they did this, but I don't see how it works correctly. The one in the back is not extended. That means the center main axis is offset of the controlling surface. Seems incorrect to me. That means the servo throw will be more or less in some areas of the swashplate than others. I'm not sure if it can be worked out on the radio, but the throw would be different. I may try to use that swashplate, but only after removing those extended balls. Thanks to moyesboy's post on trex tuning website. Then moving the servo linkage to the inside of the servo horn, on both front servos.

Btw, the ccpm upgrade I mentioned earlier from grandrc is CF and includes the bottow half of the frame, ntm everything else you need. I just recieved it today, and couldn't believe it ! :)
