Just wanted to let you guys know that TORCHES will be having a Fun Fly, Sunday October 17th at Orlando SpeedWorld in Bithlo.
Consessions will be available....landing fee is $5.00
From I-95,go west on 520 to HWY50 west...once on 50 the Speedway will be right there on the left.
From I-4 take HWY50(Colonial Dr.)east into Bithlo...the Speedway will be on the right.
I hope to see as many of you there as possible.Wish it was a 2 day event,i think more would attend from farther away.
Me and Rodney will have our own lil FREAKZONE going....come and join the ZONE!!!

We need all the HeliFreaks we can get there. To show them how HF's lay down the smack. I know it is only one day but will be good to setup a big FreakZone.

got out there this morning around 9am and flew until 4pm :) HAD a BLAST!!
Burnt little over a gallon and learned some stuff :wink:
Got to try out my new MAH DT 710's...pretty sweet.
Hopefully I'll be able to fly next weekend too, work permitting.
You guys are gonna love this field. PLENTY of SPACE!

Glad to see you trying out the MAH's conrad.....they are great blades,very responsive and auto great.See you in Bithlo.
Does anyone know if flying is going to be open all day or will the flightline be closed for demos?

we may have a problem. It appears that Orlando Speedworld has a major drag racing event scheduled for the entire weekend.
Dave Carter is in the process of confirming our ability to use the field. Should have an update tomorrow.
Normally they use the field we fly in as a parking lot. We will not be able to fly over peoples cars so the answer Dave gets is important.

Oh brother :roll:...what is the condition of the Winter Garden site?....have they removed the hurricane debris?....Would the city allow such an event at the Winter Garden site?....Id like for this to happen but understand if it cant....just thinking it might be an option if the drag race interferes.

The winter garden site cannot be used due to the agreement we have with the site prohibits any type of event.
I'll talk with Dave later today, but they are now advertising the drag race on local radio.

I talked to Dave Carter this afternoon. The event for Bithlo is cancelled this Sunday 17th. There is a 3 day event taking place at the race way and they will be using the area that is used for flying to park cars. The date will be reset for the event at the next meeting of the TORCHS.

Thank you for the info David....I was looking forward to the event...Iunderstand though.....rescheduling is cool.....will give me something to look forward to later in the year :D
