Got my new Swift ready to take to the back yard for a little test hovering & trimming & all was going well till I had some kind of little glitch with the motor. Just cut out & back on really quick. I'm using the DX 7 so If it was some kind of rf glitch I would assume it would have locked out so while thinking about this I hit the T-hold & with my mind on what might have caused this I set her down a litte hard & broke the landing gear . It didnt seem to me to be hard enough to break the gear but it did & when the vertical fin touched the ground the tail slider lever poped as well. Damn :arggg: No bent tail boom though so that was a plus! Oh well off to the net to order parts. In the mean time I tinker on it a little & notice a small chunck taken out of the tail blads - yep off to the net again to place another order. SOOO tinkering a little more I decided to go ahead & remove the lever & Lo & Behold I broke the ball off the tail pitch slider & yep you guessed it - off to place another order. 3 orders in as many hours! :bomb:
I've put it up now & will quit tinkering with it because the heli gods are not with me today :!:
What little testing I got to do was Awsome! 600 plus mtr, Electron 80 esc. & F.P. 6S packs - YEA BABY!

They say things come in three's !
Sorry to hear about the mishap, hope you locate the cause of the glitch. The landing gear do seem pretty brittle and the ball on the tail pitch is a common failure from what i have read.
Could have been much worse and better luck next time :D

Thats great Steve, I am sooo jealous! Can you believe im still waiting for parts for my own swift after almost 3 weeks. :arggg: .could understand if they were coming from australia by bannana boat, but from Champaign, Illinois to Ontario by Express air is unreal..Iv'e had items from all over the world and USA delivered usually within 5 days of placing the orders. The only info i get on the Tower Hobbies site is that it may take anything from 10 to 30 days for delivery, wish they had said that before i had paid. Oh well, 1st and last time i spend money with them.
Let me know how you get on :D

Dang broke that stinks waiting for parts that long! I got mine from http://www.advantagehobby.com/ They had everything in stock w/ free shipping. Of coarse there in Champaign as well. Next time you need something give them a try & see if its any better.
I got another 5 min test hover on mine & no glitch in the motor this time so maybe I'll be good to go. Just wish it would warm up so I can give it a full shake down!
Good Luck on the parts!

That is a typical delay from the USA into Canada....delays in Customs can be well over thirty days and NO way to trace them!!
As there are many scources for Swift parts in Canada, you will find that you will probably get them much faster by ordering from a Canadian scource

Almost 70% of my stuff comes from the US and not once have i had any customs delays, so i cant say it's typical. On this occasion my usual supplier (great hobbies) in canada didnt have the parts i needed, in fact i couldnt find one that did have Century parts, they sell the kits, but little or no parts available. Kinda sucks eh!
In my earlier post i said 3 weeks, in fact its been a month.....

One thing I did with my Hawk Pro when I first got it, because most of the "disposable" parts were always out of stock, was buy another kit just for parts. As I used up parts in the spare kit I would replace them when things came in stock. That kept me flying when I would have otherwise been grounded.

Makes sense really & its probably cheaper too instead of buying all the individual components. The good news is i now have my swift parts :D I bought enough spares to build another 2 helis...after all i do have a name to live up to.

Yea & with another kit & as cheap as they are when the bearings start to go just build the spare kit! The little things arnt so costly but when its time to replace all the bearings its just about as cheap to build a new one!
