Can anyone confirm the proper working for G3.5 using one of the new Mac dual core Intel Macs running Windows via Parallels? I have read several postings in which there was speculation that this SHOULD work - I want to know if it DOES :D

Please, someone confirm that this IS possible!

Thanks.

I don't believe that it will work under Parallels. It will work under bootcamp though.

I have been using G3.5 and phoenix on my imac intel running bootcamp. Runs great. I read that parallels cant do big rendering apps so i hvaent tried it. I may be wrong though.

i just installed G3 on my dualcore macbook this weekend via bootcamp. it runs amazingly. only problem is there are no shadows. is this a limiation of the card, or do i need another video driver?

I would bet the card. What is the one that is in yours?

it's the GMA 950. knifeedge doesn't specifically say it is or is not supported. though it doesnt appear to support any of the intel cards in general. so, i'm glad it works as well as it does.

i was just curious because i see posts here and on other forums that the macbooks are running fine.

NO! Parallels emulates the video card and gives it something like an 8MB card. Parallels will not do any modern graphics intensive games.

But I have Phoenix running in Boot Camp on XP Pro, and it works beautifully with all graphics enabled.

wulfgang, are you saying you have shadows in G3 or not? i'm booted into bootcamp and there are none. everything else runs fine.

Sorry, no G3. I have Phoenix and everything works.

shoginn: but, do you have shadows? mine does not. what video card is in your macbook?

here's my card info. is yours the same? if so, what settings do you have running in windows for the video card?

Cudaboy:

You have one of the lower end iMacs that uses the Intel Onboard graphics. The video is OK, but not up to par with the higher end models with a dedicated video board. You may have to accept some toned down graphics to get it to run. The Macbook Pros, and mid to high end iMacs and and MacPro have dedicated ATI Video boards with their own RAM and graphics processor and will run the sim as good as any mid to higher end PC.

Sorry bout that limitation.
