AAHHH, someone help!!
I was out flying after resetting up everything due to reversing the heli into the ground (glitch).

Anyhow, I also upgraded to a DX7 after too much S H one T with glitches and was playing with atv’s to set up the rudder to my liking.

Anyhow after a piro the heli developed what I can only describe as a 45 degree wag. It seems like the gyro is trying to correct its self, first the tail goes left then the gryo sends it right and so on it goes. It’s quite a gentle wag like its being caused by the operator. It might be delay related? By these don’t have a delay setting as far as I understand.

The distance changes from +- 45 degrees to about 10 degrees if I push the gain the max…
This is all happening in TL mode.

If I try it in rate, it seems to go cw then ccw, not either cw or ccw as I would expect…
??????
The biggest issue I find with this gyro is that it seems to take for ever to get right, then you crash and start all over.

Any ideas would be appreciated,

On a side note…
I really want this thing to work as I hate admitting defeat, but this may be the straw that breaks the horses back. I suppose if I by a 401 then I may be able to clarify to my self if the £20 saving was worth it, I am starting to think that all the time spent setting it up makes it not worth the £20. unless the 401 does not hold as well (unlikely).

When it works it seems to work well, but……..

I need 12 tequilas to kill the pain…

So what is the best servo to use with this gyro? I'm using the DS3400 JR on my T-rex 450.

the JR is a good servo to use. I havent tried it myself but I know it is fast. For the best performance go with the Logictech 6100 servo. Or wait until Hitec comes out with the smaller version of it. THat's gonna be a hot setup...

appleseed you got a PM

It turned out to be a loose tail blade holder bolt

Silly me did not look at things (just went into rage mode :bomb: ) as i had just rebuilt Christine, but forgot to add some thread lock to the bolt... :arggg: Stoopid newbie . Still hate having to setup the mechanical stuff after every boom replacement  .Oh well time to read "Zen and the art of heli maintenance" :smokin:

Understanding how to set this gyro up is the key. This thing rocks. It has a different feel than the 401 or 611 but it holds and thats 99% of it. I have about 800 flights on my 401 with my T-rex450 and was always fighting the tail during extreme manuvers, but now it's finally holding. I have yet to get it to break loose on fast backwards flight or windy conditions. I'm using the JR DS3400 servo. Great gyro for a great price!

This is the best gyro in the world for any mini size heli and just rocks!!

Key is to setup in Rate mode. You must set it up mechanially first in rate mode with zero drift by adjusting the servo mount till you get zero drift.

If you don't do this, this gyro will seem like garbage. I bought it a few months back and sold it because I didn't know that it had to be setup in rate mode first. Then a few friends kept bragging that its the hottest gyro out on the market and kept calling it a mini-611.

So, there I go again and buy it again for the second time. This time I had somebody walk me through the setup in rate mode with no drift, and its a bad to the bone gyro. Combined with a s9257 digital tail servo, and you got a mini-611.

I already sold one of my 401's to replace it with this sucker. I'm gonna wait probably for the Hitec version to come out and replace my last 401 on my other heli as soon as that one comes out also!!!!

******777, how far out on the S9257 servo horn is the ball on your setup?

I"m using the 2nd hole on the star servo horn.

I used the 2100t with a S3154 on the tail of my 450 and loved it....

After I got the programming/setup in my head, I had that thing rock solid, was better for me than the 401...

Now that im flying nitro's only I have moved on from the 2100t, but would like to try the 6100t some time...

I've flown it on a Honey bee King, HDX450 and now on my T-rex 500. Always use a fast servo and take the time to set it up perfect before judging it. It wil not disappoint you but it does need some pampering before it starts to shine. The 401 is a lot more plug and play but it does not outperform the Logictech.
