I'd like to keep the engine out of my Kalt Baron to put in the Hawk I ordered and plan to learn on. It's an OS. I pulled it out of the helicopter, but I can't get the fan and aluminum mount thingy off. (hows that for a newbie technical term  ) There's a black hex nut in there that I know is part of the engine and belongs to the shaft. I don't know what size it is, and it's on there GOOD. I tried a little bit with the needle nose pliers, but gave up before I messed it up by using the wrong tool. Something I did many times when I was an RC car newbie. I assume I need a nut driver to get that bugger off, but what size?

Ohh you will need a Ratchet and a Towel to hold the fan to get that bugger off. I dont recall what size it is but its gonna take some force if its put on there right.

Hmm, I've got a ratchet, didn't think of that. Now hopefully I've got the right socket. Thanks sceadu50dude.

Locktite definitely works !!!! If you can't get enough grip on the fan with the towel, Sears (I think) has a rubber strapped ratchet sort of thing that will give you more grip. I don't know what you call it, but it uses a rubber strap and a plastic handle to go around large objects to tighten or loosen them. I have also seen them used in kitchens to remove jar tops.
