I just wanted to break the norm and say how lucky I feel.
I could be addicted to much worse things. I'm addicted to helis.....and I love the CX.
Purists call the CX a "toy" because it's too stable. Acrobats call them "worthless" because they can't blow two directions. Your LHS will tell you that they are good "beginner" machines, and you'll never see the heli magzines glorifying any CX pilots. But, I have to say that when it comes to RC helis, they got it right with the CX.
I love to fly my Trex but for every minute of Trex flight I probably log 15 minutes on the CX. Don't get me wrong, it's not the Trex's fault, it's a wonderful machine! BUT......there's this one minute or so bliss in the middle of a CX battery that can't be put in words. If you're a CX pilot you know. The motor heat is just right and the gyro allows you forget about the tail. It only lasts a short while but the feeling of being hands off and hovering totally stationary can't be found anywhere else.
How do I measure time? BBC (between battery charges)
