Specifically, my Futaba 8FG controller configures any trim slider or rotary pot assigned to the Gear channel 5 to control it plus or minus a midpoint. Further confusing me, there's an associated "Rate" setting that by default limits the range to 30%. So when I view the graphic Servo display I can see the channel 5 Gear trimmer change the value from -30 to +30 and a bar graph move above or below a line.
Yet experienced 330X users write about setting the Gain value in the range between 40% and 60%, as if their radios provide a linear 0 to 100% trim control. Pleeeeze, someone explain how do you configure a channel to control gain in a linear and numerically understandable fashion? (And if your radios are doing the +/- thing then how do you know when you've got it set at, say, 45%?)
