well, it looks like our canopies may not come any time soon. my brother in law has a Razor too and he spoke with MA today and they said the canopies came in but are too heavy but no word as to what will happen next. oh well :dontknow

Get one of the Razor canopies from Jody Greer at Insane Air FX. Really a nice and light canopy. Jody has been painting some of them using Pactra FasColor on the inside. Makes a nice light weight canopy.

I got confirmation today that my direct from MinAir Razor order shipped WITH canopy!!

Personally I would still get one of the Razor canopies from Jody at Insane Air FX. I compared them this past weekend to the F/G canopy. The Insane Air FX canopy is half the weight of the F/G canopy and that was with a paint job on it.

The Insane Air FX canopy also has a cooler nose shape IMHO. It looks more "MA like" for sure.

I got the same story on the phone today, but if they are shipping new kits with them without filling the orders for the ones that they already sold, That Stinks!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad your kit is coming with one. I'd just like the straight story from them.

So you called yesterday and they said that new kits were shipping with canopies, and that yours wasn't shipping yet? That does sound messed up.

Did I hear something that the original batch would get a higher quality canopy? Perhaps the kits shipping now are with the cost down canopy?

Nice canopy, very light weight, nice looking, reasonably priced.
Jody may be able to paint it also for a reasonable fee. I have seen a few he painted and they looked great. You can see some of them in the Clintstone Birthday bash pictures

Just to clarify....I was NOT told new kits would ship with a canopy. I WAS told that some came in and they were to heavy so they sent them back and that they had no idea when they would be in.

I was commenting on Vertflyer saying he got confirmation his new kit would have one. And the fact that I have seen pictures of a few MA canopies for the razor showing up in the forums.

Personaly I am happy they are making sure the quality is there in the canopies. I would just like the truth on what is going on! When I bought mine, I wasn't told about it shipping without one. I just opened the box to find it missing and have been told several times by several people at MA (including Tim) that it would be any day now. And that was weeks ago.

Sorry for my frustration....just looking for the straight scoop! :(

Since then I have bought two of Jody's Lexan canopies and I can confirm that they are very nice and lite. I am no painter and painting on the inside even makes it harder for me. but here are pics. (Maybe a candidate for ugliest paint job) :lol:

Where did you buy the Razor? If directly from MA they were not shipping unless the customer understood the canopy was not going to be in the kit. The customer had to agree to the canopy not being in the kit and make arrangements to get it when they did come in.

Yes I bought it from MA and No I was not told. When I called up to inquire about it, the lady said; "Oh, you were'nt told? Sorry, they will be here the end of January." And that the canopy was paid for but I would have to pay for shipping when it did.

I have no reason to lie about it, thats the way it happened! If I would have been told, I would have still gotten the kit, as I was as eager as the next guy to get one. And I'm not blaming MA for not telling me. Mistakes happen. I'm just stating the way it happened!

Again, I was just commenting on what Vertflyer had said. And I just wanted to hear what others had heard about when they would get theirs!

I'm with David on that one. I got one from Jody at Clint's. It will work for now, photo sometime when I get caught up from work. It is cool to see a 1-piece Lexan can, and it seems to fly good on a lot of copters.

latest i heard is that MA is possibley going to start making the canopy themselves because the vendor has let them down (i can relate to this :arggg: ). looks like they will only be able to make 2-3 a day. i will get the lexan canopy for now until they catch up. no big deal. obviuosly the situation is out of their control. if this heli wasnt so sweeeeet i might be a little upset over the whole thing. but im not

The canopies that come in the kit will eventually be like the one that Insane A FX is making. The F/G canopy will be an option in the future. The ones that bought kits without canopies will receive an F/G canopy.

To our customers who have purchased razor kits without canopies. We are producing a small amount of canopies in-house to relieve the situation. Unfortunately our main canopy supplier has fallen behind on production and has not met our immediate needs. We did receive our first shipment this week of which was much smaller than expected. These canopies have and will be shipped to previous customers. In anticipation of this shipment arriving we did ship several kits out last week with canopies included, keeping in mind that this week shipment was expected to be much larger, this helping to relieve the canopy shortage. We have been informed today that a more substantial shipment will be leaving this Friday of which will arrive mid-next week. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience. All of our customers who are expecting canopies will receive their canopies at no additional shipping charges. THANK YOU FROM MA.
