I just accidently bought a 9zap not a wc1 or wc2. I wanted the gyro duo function but it dosent have it. Can i have the software updated to have the duo function? Or is there another way to do the same thing? Thanks

No upgrade that I know about. The WC1 could be upgraded to the WC2.

The gyro DUO program was not that big of a deal to me. I still just used it the same as I would ATV's to adjust the gain. You can do the same thing with ATV. Have one side one sensitivity in AVCS mode and the other side another sensitivity in AVCS mode.

I bet you can have it upgraded from Hobby Services if you are willing to buy a new PCB. That would be very expensive! I know some people who had their 9Z's upgraded and it wasn't cheap. Not worth it for what you actually will get.

Hobby Services/Futaba did not offer changing a first edition 9Z to a WC1. It was not feasible cost wise.
If you know people that had a 9Z changed to a WC1. I don't believe that Futaba USA or Hobby Services did it.

Hello David,

Yes you can assign a switch to the gyro. Go into the FNC menu an on channel 5 assign that channel the switch you want.
Then use the Channel 5 ATV to set the gain to what you want. You will have to do this in each flight condition.

David,
First of all thank you very much for your fast reply. I have tried this already but if I select for example SW. A in the FNC menu and then go to the ATV gyro channel which is No. 5 and move the A Sw. no input will show on the screen. Seems in Heli mode the radio blocks out the movement. The same appends with other switches too. If I am in Airplane mode channel 5 is normally the gear switch and I can assign it to any Sw. I want and ATV works on any of this. It has to work in another way, may be through channel mixing for example. I have no Idea.

Just assign the switch you want to the gyro channel in the FNC menu.

Then go to the menu screen that shows the operation of the servos. Flip the gyro switch and you should see the bar graph move from top to bottom or vice versa on channel 5. I have set up many 9Z's this exact way and it works. I use one side of the Channel 5 ATV to adjust the gain in AVCS mode, the other side adjust Normal mode. 100% ATV will egual about 110% gain on the gyro.
Just look at the screen on the GY gyro till you get the gain where you want it.

Hello David,
I think I got it now. What I did find out is that I have to have the Gyro in the gyro menu set to linear mode. Now the Sw. is working. Thanks for your effort.

No the gyro menu in the radio just needs to be Inhibited ( INH). That is what I always do.
