Hey guys,
I need to purchase a engine for my trex 600le fbl. I have seen some pretty good deals on the novarossi 57hr-3d. Is this too much power and a complicated motor for a beginner? I've heard they are easier to tune. If not for me then ys, os, or align? I know the os 50 is most popular for a beginner. I have seen the align and ys 50 new for $150.
Need help from a more experienced person.:dontknow

For a beginner, your better off with a OS Hyper 50 as its a 2 needle carb and easyer to tune, even easyer than the YS 50st.The Hyper 50 make very good power with the Hatori,MP5 or Align pipes. The reason I say go with the Hyper 50 is the Rossi 57,OS 55 and YS 56 are 3 needle carbs and really not the motors to learn with for a first nitro motor.People that go from 2 needle to 3 needle carbs for the first time have a some what of a hard time learning how to tune them.
Im not saying you can't burn a 2 needle motor up like the Hyper 50 because you can but you can burn a 3 needle carb up very fast if you don't know what your doing, thats why its better to start with a 2 needle carb.Once you learn to tune a Hyper 50,it makes it easyer to learn to tune any 3 needle carb but its a whole nother ball game because you have another needle for tuning.
If you have on hands help from someone that knows how to tune a 3 needle carb then go for it but start off with a OS Hyper 50 if you don't have help. The hyper 50 is also very cheap to repair if needed.
Just my opinion :cheers ..

The OS Hyper 50 does not have 3 needles to adjust low/mid/high setting, just low and high. They never had 3 adjustments..
