Do you have the whole series of DVDs or just the first one of three? Ive been wanting to buy the second two sets but have not had time to research them. I also have his book that I ordered from rc modeler magazine. You can still order their books off the web site.

I have all 3 DVD's - bought them in a set. Perfect combination for me as I have the XP9303 and the TT Raptor 50 V2 so I could follow every one of Ray's instructions (in terms of the radio and Heli setup - not quite there with the flying yet) to the letter.

If I have as much fun flying the Raptor as I did building and setting it (and the 9303) up I will be well pleased.

One of the features I like is it's ability to set a throttle delay when coming out of throttle hold

I have heard various opinions on the throttle time delay - even "you don't want ANY DELAY on the throttle, son!!! Get rid of it!!"

My inexperienced gut feal tells me that some delay might not be a bad idea all round - what sort of time delay have you set in? With all your autos I'm sure you have been able to test it a few times to make sure it is good.

Paul

The delay function is handy if you forget to switch out of I/Up before you hit hold , trying to bail out of an auto into 100% throttle could be nasty.. But its safer to switch out of I/up , back to normal mode , BEFORE you hit the hold switch ....

Hi,
I bought the JR 9XII (same with JR 9303) last few months but I found that my radio only came with mode 1.According to the manual,we can change the radio to mode 1 or mode 2 but i can't found the "STICK MOD" & "STICK DIR" in my system menu.
Can anybody tell me how to change it?Some of the senior flyer using the same radio told me i have to open the radio & modifield some of the hardware or component inside the radio then the "STICK MOD" & "STICK DIR" will appear in the system menu.Which component I have to set the "jumper"?Can somebody show me how to do that?

There are two different versions of the radio, one "es" version that have all fuctions enabled and one "hs" version that are locked to mode #1 and have shorter trottelstick travel, no stickdir & stick mode in the menu, no zpcm choise in the modulation menu and no alarm when turning on the radio with trottel hold or idle up turned on.

The stickmode selection is only locked in the software so any jr service place probably could turn it on. the other things can be turned on just by put som jumpers on the main board. check this picture:

http://81.8.136.43/Art/9x_jumpers.gif

BUT.. its on your own risk if you try and do something wrong and damage the radio.

I am running the DSX9 which is the same as the X9303 except for digital throttle trim and mode selectable.
One future that can cause issues is the "Pitch Trim Lever" on the LHS of the radio.
It moves the pitch range up and down and in helies like the X-Cell 1003 which has only +10 ~ -10 range of pitch, it can cause mechanicle stalling if you had your range set up to be the full range and then move this lever.
To turn it off:
Go into System menu by holding down the "ENT" key and turning on the radio.
Scroll to "DeviceSEL" and click
Now scroll to "Pit.TRIM" and click
Select "INH"

I am not a Mode 2 pilot, I fly Mode 1.
In Australia, the 1st lot of radios seemed to have all been Mode1 and Mode 2 will follow in some later stage.
Have a look at this link: http://www.archeli.com.au/cobra/showthread.php?t=113676

Hi Alfred, seems like i cant change the position of the idle up switch. I wouldnt change the assignment of the switches as they are lablled. I think i have to live with it. Is the arrangement of the toggle switch for a 9xII same as a DSX9? Spoon

My DSX9 came with the 9XII manual and just an amendment for the Spectrum part. It's been spot on. So yes, the arrangment is the same.

The 9303 manual refers to a "Hovering Pitch Lever"(HPL) and "Hovering Throttle Lever"(HTL). I have the HPL assigned to the left side lever, but how to I assign the HTL to the right side lever?

Most of us Inh both of them.

Here's something I do:

Enter the System Menu >Trim Step >Rudder =0

It essentially sets rudder trim to INH, and its impossible to bump it now.

I just found out you can start and stop the timer using the trainer switch. Never knew that.

That's a beaut find.
I have a look at that, quite like the idea of starting the time with the Trainer switch.

I don't know of any full-blown setup vids for the x9303, but there is an overview in Finless' Trex 500 build thread.
